Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Game looks good, but environments/lighting/characters do not hold a candle to Assassins Creed Unity, and the character animations aren't even as good as Shadow of Mordor. Compared to last generation it's still gorgeous, but against this generation it's simply on par.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
You guys do the www.dragonagekeep.com thing? It's pretty cool. Somehow incorporates your previous game saves based on your achievements and then puts together the back story based on how you played. Pretty cool idea. Wish it would have been in the game, but still was great to relieve the entire last two games again prior to launching up DA3.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I am loving this game. I just figured how to get a character to hold his or her position during the tactical view. When you move a character to a point, hit X a second time.
That is a game changer for me. I was wondering why when I moved them to a point they started fighting somewhere else.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
Like Pokes said either use a controller on PC or go ps4. Personally I got my refund from Origin because of the the flaws on PC, for some reason the game wouldn't recognize my 360 controller and I was having terrible performance. I'm probably just going to head to gamestop today and get a ps4 version.Last edited by JWR3232; 11-19-2014, 11:11 AM.New York Yankees

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I went rouge and have a couple skills but I cant help but feel like I do no damage. I'll isolate a guy, rip off 3 skill moves and do like 10% damage, then when my goons back me up, we fly through the enemies. I may not be cut out for this finesse rouge thing.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I played 5 hours so far. I have no opinion on it yet. One thing is that it's huge. It's borrowing from Assasins Creed and Watchdogs with the whole sandbox unlock areas thing.
I'm not sold on the combat system as of yet. Will have to play more. Also not a fan of the inventory management. One reviewer said the game really gets addicting at about 15 hours. So I'm holding judgment for a bit.
I think the combat moves too fast. Yes I know you can stop it at any time and get more "tactical" but that's rarely needed. I feel like I don't really know what all my characters can do.
I prefer the classic Bioware type RPG than an "action" rpg. Currently I would recommend for those who also like that kind of game Divinity - Origninal Sin on the PC. It's the best RPG I've played in forever.
I do "like" Dragon Age III so far, but I don't love it. But every review on the planet is gushing over it so I'm hoping I'll fall in love with it eventually. It's just too early to give it a 'score" in my book.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I'm probably 6 hours in on PC. Just got to the Hinterlands and everywhere I walk there's new quests to do. Seems crazy huge. Definitely wish that I could right click on loot and have my character walk straight there to pick it up. Plugged in my controller and things feels a little more natural. Still trying to get used to everything with the combat but I'm loving it so far. So much to do, so many characters to talk to that it's almost overwhelming.Comment

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition
I'm playing on PS4 and experiencing loss of dialogue and (voice overs begin to fade, stutter, and then not play at all). This EXACT same thing happened on the XBox360 version of the DA2 game. How does a bug like this continue through all these years later and find itself jumping platforms as well?
So sick of buying these new games and finding BIG bugs like this early into the game (this started roughly 30 minutes into campaign for me). Companies are dumping crap on us because they know they can update it later. So disappointed in Bioware. Ruined a full 10 minute scene for me last night that I couldn't quit as I had not saved recently. Couldn't hear anything in it, just had to guess on dialogue choices.Comment

Me too, on the combat, some of the moves are really cool but everything is so fast you don't see them nor can you exactly time when to pull things off. I just hit heavy attack because I need more damage applied not because there is an open window to use heavy attack. Same with any of the attacks, are they ready to go? use them, have they recharged? if so, use them.
At the least, a replay mode would be cool, just to be able to rewind and ff through a battle sequence.
As for gushing, I think that is completely because of the scale of the game, the camera angles they chose to display events really drives home a sense of epic-ness. The open world isn't so open, I mean yes, it is, but if you wander around long enough you will run into a barrier that won't let you through until you progress the story. I don't have any problem with that really but it certainly isn't as open world as it feels.
But, my guess is once you (we) progress farther into the story and open more areas the sense of freedom will increase.
At the same time, last night I was wading up a decent sized stream and came to a cliff area. It was possible to navigate down the opposite side of the cliff slowly and I was doing this and collecting elfweed, I heard but didn't listen to my party discussing a large bird over head. Mindlessly collecting a plant when a fireball lights us up. Killed Solas the mage instantly. I went over to revive him but it was tricky moving on the side of the cliff, then I saw the dragon over head and he/she was massive, another fireball obliterated us, I switched to the Iron Bull who had just a bar of health left and frantically tried to revive the closest party member and another fireball hammered my group. Toast.
It is kind of fun to get your *** totally kicked from out of the blue. It happened so quick, from innocently collecting herbs to roasting in the sun on the side of a cliff in an instant.resident curmudgeonComment
