    ME1 on PS3:

some things (including, but not limited to: texture popping, overall performance) are improved on the PS3
well, "new coat of paint" isn't quite fair. But "remake" implies way more. It's... a port. ME1 engine with ME2 PS3 touch-ups
"We're trying to retain the classic experience, but make some targeted fixes"
"it doesn't have ME3-style combat. It plays like the classic ME1"
Will ME1 on 360 get the performance upgrades or is that going to be exclusive to PS3?

nope, the improvements are specific to the PS3 hardware.

As a PS3 owner who hasn't purchased ME2 or ME3, I am extremely excited for this!

I barely played 1 on the 360. Adding this to my PS3 collection

Question for the guys that have played them all.

I just finished ME2, and enjoyed the heck out of it. I got 85% of the trophies, explored 100% of the galaxy, played the DLC, and borderline kicked myself for not playing it earlier.

Now, I want to go back and play them all. Should I wait for ME1 to hit PSN, and then play ME3? Play ME2 again on insanity and go for platinum, and play them in order? Or just go for ME3 and get the original when it comes to PSN (has that date been released yet?)?

          What do you think?

Already said they'll patch ME2 that came out in 2011 on PS3 to allow ME1 game saves. But still don't know what happens to that interactive comic yet.

And I'm also happy because now I can choose which person I romance in the first game with an actually informed decision, rather than based on how they all act after the events of ME2 which changes how they all threat you. Or what to do on Virmire or between Ashley and Kaiden.

If you are going to play ME1 for sure, I'd wait and start with ME1 instead of going right into ME3. Starting back at ME1 is the beginning of a pretty long journey and with you not having completed the story in ME3, that might help keep you motivated going all the way through the series. I think ME2 is the best of the series and one of my all-time favorite games, so playing it a second time should be no problem (and even a third if you decide to do an Insanity run in the meantime).

on PC, if you imported an ME1 save, the comic was still there in ME2, but you don't get to choose what you did. instead it will show your choices you made in ME1. so it just recapped what you did basically.

I would start with ME1 and play through all 3 with 1 character. seems like it would be a lot of fun. something I'll probably do at some point, play all 3 back-to-back with 1 character.

For those who are yet to experience any part of this series and are now interested due to this compilation, all I can say is that you are going to get exceptional value for the price. This is gaming at it's height, all three together for the cost of one for any uninitiated is gaming heaven.

Best series this generation and a very strong bid for best series of all time.

I suppose I'm going to get this. I saw my old suite mate play ME2 my freshmen year and I tried the demo, but I didn't understand anything.

The only thing that was stopping me earlier was not being able to play the first one, so here it is waiting just for me.

So according to the press release, it only comes with the DLC that it had originally? Since I already have all 3 for the PC, I think I'll pass. The only way it made sense if it included all the DLC (since I hardly bought any).

I still wonder if its the PC or 360 version of ME being ported over.

Looks like ME passed SCEA certification a couple of days ago.

"You have earned a trophy. Mass Effect PS3 approved by SCEA. #goldtrophy #comeonSCEE"

FWIW, Amazon has the PS3 version release date as Dec 4th.

So I'm playing ME1 again and realized, the transformation of Liara from this game until ME3 is amazing. She seems so innocent and out of touch with other people and the rest of the universe in this one when she first joins your crew.

"Amazing"? Yeah an amazingly contrived transformation. She's still cool though.

I think it's a natural transformation given the events and the things she is apart of once you bring her aboard your ship.
