The one thing I'm not looking forward is that you can be invaded at anytime. I don't want to deal with random jerks going for a easy kill.MLB: Chicago Cubs

Dark Souls II
It's different with a fresh new game. No ones going to have end game gear at low levels invading.
I'm personally going to be invading in each area before a boss. I'm looking forward to 2v1s with the new covenant.

Dark Souls II
In dark souls, you can invade others with a red soapstone. If you kill the invader, you will get souls and a humanity and vice versa. The ultimate goal for the invader is to kill the host. Some people have lame ways to achieve that goal such as sitting at the top of sens fortress and using ranges attacks as you try to cross the bridges.
You can only invade I think 10 soul levels below you and anyone else higher than you. There's a chance to invade level 120s as a level 1. There are those douchebags with end game gear at level 1 who invade the undead parish and just kill newbies over and over, but that shouldn't happen in the early life of dark souls 2.
In dark souls 1, you can only be invaded if you are human. Now they have changed it to where you can be invaded either as a hollow or human.

Re: Dark Souls II
In addition now, if you're a part of certain covenants, your covenant brothers will automatically be summoned to help you at times. You can also be summoned to help.
There's also the mechanic thay you can br simmoned to help others take down bosses too if you want

Re: Dark Souls II
In the past it was a risk/reward system. Being in human form gave you real advantages of being in soul/hollow form, but it also came with the risk of invasion.
On the flip side you can also summon allies in the game to help you clear the game content (which makes the game super easy IMO), or to help you kill invaders.
There are two co-op covenants in the game, one is mostly PvE oriented. It basically will function the exact way as the Warriors of Sunlight aka "SunBros" from the original Dark Souls.
The second group is more of an "automatic protection" if you will against invaders. Basically as soon as someone invades you the game will instantly send another player to help you.
Some don't like invasions, but IMO they add to the tension of the game. Plus, there's nothing more satisfying that killing an invader.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Dark Souls II
I got invaded like 6 times trying to fight those 2 bosses. (Fat guy and lightning guy) Every time I use humanity to be able to summon the guy to help I got invaded and killed. Most were douchbags who would span poison darts and arrows then when you got in close would use this repel thing. Pissed me off so much. I absolutely hate that you can be invaded as a hollow or human now. It's BS imo.

Re: Dark Souls II
They just need to make invasions seriously high risk/high reward. I don't really have any suggestion yet as to what the risk would be but I think it should be highly rewarding for the person that's getting invaded should he survive the invasion.__________________________________________________ ____

Re: Dark Souls II
About to start playing this, so here's to hoping it's everything I want it to be. I didn't follow the development or any news about it at all (and actually totally forgot about release until an hour or two ago.)
Sadly I don't have a capture card, so no streaming of the game for me.badComment

Re: Dark Souls II
Games out today or tomorrow?
Also I just skimmed the invading thing but honestly as a new person to DS universe this could be a huge turn off for me. I had hard enough time grinding no where in DS let alone while some player smacks me around.5Comment
