Level 23 Swordsman and feel like I haven't been anywhere or accomplished anything, lol.

Although I am adapting to the game a bit. Kind of back traveling ATM. :/

Welcome to Dark Souls

It's worth it to backtrack. There are too many hidden goodies and other areas to find. In the original Dark Souls, I missed three treasure chests in Firelink Shrine(starting area) till mid way through the game...

Just picked up some pine tar resin. Worth putting on my +2 short sword or +2 scimitar now or should I wait?

If it works like it did in DS(only a temp buff), I'd save it. Pine Tar is useful when fighting bosses who are more weak to certain damages.

Dark Souls II

Haven't found a new weapon for my cleric. I've been rocking the mace and it's been carrying me. I kill the large knights in 4 hits and turtles in 3. Also picked up some new miracles in force and lightning spear. Force has helped me so many times just by stunning enemies all around me. It has a quick cast time and I can get it off when surrounded.

Also I've been putting my sign down helping people on some bosses. I found out I can heal nearby allies when I use the heal miracle

Got two bosses down and looks like I'm about to head to a third based on messages. Gonna head around and see if I missed anything before I do it though

Well, so much for the easier difficulty (thankfully). I've already died a few dozen times and have only beaten one boss. The past few months I've been playing a lot of DS 1 wishing I could go back to experience it for the first time, so I'm loving every second of DS II

My copy is shipping today from Amazon. Sitting in agony at work just wanting to go home once it ships. I think I've narrowed down my choice to Knight or Explorer, leaning towards Knight because of the higher Strength/Dex and high Adaptability. That monocle and beret on the Explorer looks baller though.

Go to a bonfire and light the torch. Don't rest at it, it'll tell you to press triangle to toggle options.
