Re: Dark Souls II
Well if you're looking for chunks, definitely join the bell covenant. You get a chunk each time you win and it's fairly easy to win considering it's usually two of you vs the host.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Made some great progress today.
SpoilerTook down the Old Iron King, Duke's Dear Freja, and The Rotten. In Drangleic Castle now and just wiped up the 2 Dragonriders fight. It feels like I'm close to the end, but I could be completely wrong and have another 20 hours to go.
SpoilerI'm using Havel's armor. It's in The Gutter, but you need a video to find it, because the key to open the door is in a spot you would never look.Spoilerhaving Havel's armor. I like the set, even back in DS, but for most of the bosses I'm facing it's way too heavy.
Armor wise, I think I'm going forSpoilerthe lion armor in the castle, guarded by a Sentinel, or the armor supposedly hidden by the well trap in the Lost Bastille
Spoilerflame swathe. Insane damage.

Re: Dark Souls II
I recently got into hexes. The mages got all the love man. So many fun spells to cast for major damage.
Edit: I killed my first invader just now. Feels good man. Guy got the one two from my hexes. He had no idea what to do. I saw him first and caught him trying to buff his sword with lightning. It was over. Two spells and gone.Last edited by kingkilla56; 03-23-2014, 12:36 PM.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Lambert, the armor is called Faraam. It's decent weight, and better all around armor than the Knight armor. If you can put up with the weight, Havel's armor is still probably the best available.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Dark Souls II
While inSpoilerthe castle, I noticed my warp menu is weird. It's now showing areas I haven't been to/found as ??? and bonfires in areas I've explored as ??? also. Is this normal?
I should really go back and light most of them.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Yeah, just found it. Farming a bit to upgrade it.

Spoileronce you get to drangleic, it shows you all the bonfires in the game. The ??? are bonfires you did not find yet.

Re: Dark Souls II
If you want to be a kinda battle mage,Spoilerpick up the firesword in giant woods area. It scales with your int and would be good to start, the Heide sword from the Heide warrior is also good for this but moreso for Clerics
But the main focus naturally is INT and ATN. But for my mage and hexes I need FTH as well, plus faith has some sweet damage spells. My build is based around keeping my distance, sniping, and dodging. The damage from the spells gets outrageous down the line.
My stats now at SL108 are VGR11 END8 VIT5 ATN40 STR4 DEX7 ADP8 INT48 FTH30
I wanted to get my main stats as high as necessary asap and focus on the otherstats later. Once I get INT to 50 I'll leave it and up ATN to get more spell slots. Then work on my health bar which is embarrassingly weak right now.
With all that said, If you were actually asking me how to actually play as a sorcerer in general, like a sorcerer 101, I could do that too lol.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
Yeah there's a staff, chime, and pyromancy hand. The type spell determines which is needed to activate it.Comment

Re: Dark Souls II
More progress/exploring. While inSpoilerDrangleic, found a door with a weird guy/thing on the outside and a woman on the inside. Decided to explore more, and met up with the Looking Glass Knight. He was cool looking, but the fight wasn't that bad. I waited until he went to summon someone, three hits with the Club, and it stun locked him/threw him out of that animation.
So I came across the Shrine of Amana...
Yeah...
I hate that place. Homing spells, ultra fast and hard hitting foot soldiers, and the incredibly quick frog guys. The frog guys are a pretty good farming spot for Humanity. At least I finally have the armor that the Knight was wearing in the beta. I made it past them and to the giant Frog boss.
He wasn't too bad once I realized you could simply step back from him, let him waddle around, smack the face, and repeat. I'm currently in the Crypt, hanging out with the Keeper. Man, what a cool character.
Also, inSpoilerAmana, amazing atmosphere. When you first arrive, you see the little hut, and a haunting melody...Comment

In Aldia's Keep now and looks like I found the spot Mike was talking about with the lever. Yeah, about 30 messages telling me not to do it, so I'm going to listen.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Late game
Spoiler**** those knights in Dragon Shrine with the Great Hammer. Oh let me just send 40 nonstop overhand smashes at you while you also try and dodge a knight with a sword and shield. Guess those guys have no stamina.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
