It's a totally different experience when you get a grip on which signs to use and when. Very few RPG's dominate my playing time, though I've played my fair share. This of course is making a case for my favorite ever, I played TWC 2 but never finished nor was I nearly as obsessed.

Anyway saying all that, I'd always gravitate towards melee builds over magic. The signs coupled with the melee combat in 3 provide the best of both worlds. Additionally, using both is as much a necessity as it is fun. A beautiful dynamic.

Bug has surfaced with latest patch that gives no or decreased XP points for finishing quests. Happens on PS4 and PC. Doesn't effect everyone. Read about it on Polygon.

Anyone noticed any problems with this yet?

I think I'm gonna start over again also, I hadn't noticed just how massive the maps are and I stuck too close to the storyline. Got to Novigrad and realized I was only lvl 3 and was promptly put down by a single drowner lol. I'm gonna try to clear white orchard this time before moving on and see how that works out now that I have a better handle on things.

I'm affected. I didn't receive xp for completing the pyres of novigrad quest just now.

I'm about to be Level 6 and still dealing with Velen.

I want to do the Barron mission, The Wild Heart side mission, and at least take on that Witcher Contract in Velen (I think it's suggested lvl 6.. may be wrong) before I go anywhere else. There's just so much to do and for me, someone who has to do critical thinking about what to do next, It's a little time consuming. This game has dominated the time I could usually spend playin two-three games with my free time, but that's okay.

It's a really good value game and the stories really suck me in.

I read that it applies specifically to quests that have a recommended level of 6+ below your level.

yep, that's what I read as well.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

This was falsely printed over at Kotaku. I actually pointed it out in the comments section to its author (he usually responds to me and is very cool so it is strange he didn't edit the piece).

The author misinterpreted a statement made my a CDPR Dev when they stated that you don't gain XP for level 6 or more below you. The author thought this was the bug when in fact this was the Dev stating how it is SUPPOSED to work.

The actual bug is not getting XP for completing quests that are either -5 below you and above. The ones we're actually supposed to get XP from.

Some are saying they get none at all; some are saying the do get them incrementally during missions, but not the final XP dump when the quest is finished.

I guess I've seen it both ways within quests (incremental and a big dump at the end). I've never seen one not give me any at all, though.

Then again, I don't always pay that close attention to exactly how much XP I'm getting.

The bug of a abandoned site. It's on the road and there's a small shrine. There is supposed to be some ghouls there and it unlocks a herbalist there. The bug is the ghouls never spawn.

Me too man! I fast traveled back there last night right before logging out for some much needed sleep. Going to do a bit more exploring and look for people to talk to I guess, do some looting (of what's left). I've cleared all of the question mark locations.

I think I have been getting the incremental xp but not the final. That is a pretty darned big bug and makes me not want to play until this is fixed.

The ghouls were there in that spot for me, killing them is what brought the people back, including the herbalist.
