    Re: The Witcher 3

Has anybody else done the In Wolf's Clothing quest at Urialla Harbor in Skellige? Just curious what others decided to do during that one.

I also ran through Tower Outta Nowheres last night - which features a not-so-subtle nod to DRM.

Also, Yen is kind of a bitch.

After making it back to Velen and progressing to Kaer Morhen I feel like I should take the venom out of that statement. Yes, there are questionable actions from her, but like the rest of the characters Yen is fairly complex with similar motivations to Geralt. Of course, certain aspects of her are unlikable, but after working through The Last Wish* and returning to Kaer Morhen I can see why Geralt would romance her.

Traveling back to Velen felt like re-starting the game - a stranger in a new land. I loved Skellige. Velen and Novigrad feel like the default fantasy setting, but Skellige was something I had never seen in a videogame before. I loved the setting and the differences in their way of life compared to the Continent. Each region is done really well and feels like a real, functioning world.

I'm excited to progress the story, but I will miss Skellige. There were some crazy adventures:

Was looking at the latest patch notes, lots of fixed quest glitches. The only quest glitch I've had that could not be fixed with a reload has been the Nobleman of Novigrad or something like that. Triss tales me into a small house and is suppose to do something with a jade statue, but nothing happens. Doesn't see that in the list though.

Here we go for patch 1.08 out soon. Got this right from Marcin Momot on the Witcher site.

          Patch 1.08 Notes

The next patch will be arriving quite soon. Please check the list of changes below.

          PERFORMANCE:
Overall improvements to performance, including some issues that may have been caused by 1.07.

          UI:
[Japanese Only][PS4 Only] Fixes an issue where the background text of certain books would flicker.
Fixes an issue where part of the Kaer Morhen map would not display properly.

          GAMEPLAY:
Fixes a rare issue where items would disappear from the stash.
Fixes a very rare issue which would cause Geralt to get stuck when trying to run.
The interaction pop-up will no longer appear on lootable objects that are empty.
Fixes an occasional glitch in one of the dwarf combat animations.
Heads chopped off during finishers will no longer disappear.
"Players can perform a roll just before landing to significantly reduce the damage caused by falling.
We've added a tutorial pop-up window explaining this to make it clearer."
In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone's inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour. This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion's effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to compare their items with ones sold by merchants.

          ACHIEVEMENTS:
Players will now be able to complete the Card Collector achievement.
Achievements are now working properly again and will be unlocked if players meet their requirements after installing this patch (PC version).

          GRAPHICS:
Fixes an issue where interiors would sometimes not display properly on the minimap.
Fixes an issue where certain world elements would sometimes be missing and noticeable visual glitches would be present while in Novigrad.

          QUEST:
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "It Takes Three to Tango" quest, even though they had obtained wine at the Kingfisher.
Fixes an issue where Geralt would sometimes die after traveling to Velen in the quest "Something Ends, Something Begins."
The entrance to the area where the Sunstone is obtained will no longer be blocked off if the player exits it prematurely during "The Sunstone" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to complete the "Get Junior" quest on certain occasions.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear" quest due to a closed gate.
Fixes an issue where some players were unable to investigate rooms during the "Family Matters" quest, effectively blocking their progression.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the "Hey, You Wanna Look at my Stuff?" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the "An Eye for an Eye" quest.
Fixes an issue where Roche would stay at his camp instead of going to the Oxenfurt Bridge in the "Get Junior" quest.
Fixes an issue where, under certain circumstances, Yennefer would not appear in Oxenfurt during the "The Great Escape" quest.
Drowners will have a harder time killing Nidas during the "Black Pearl" quest.
Fixes an issue which led to an infinite loading screen during the "To Bait a Forktail..." quest under certain circumstances.
Fixes a rare issue where the basement was locked during the "King's Gambit" quest.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to free the merchant during the Person in Distress event in the Claywich area.
The trolls at the Circle of Elements will no longer attack Geralt if he opts for a peaceful resolution.
Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the "Brothers in Arms" quest.
Fixes an issue where Zoltan's card was unobtainable.

          GENERAL:
Preparatory features paving the way for the introduction of New Game + in the future.
In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

I wish I could just not me. Too many games too little time. Never one to replay a game or for that fact a movie. Rarely I see a movie twice unless I love it. Oh well game on man!

Really??? I could watch my movie collection over and over if I wanted to. I never get bored of watching them even though I know everything that happens.

As for games, it depends on the game. During the Xbox 360/PS3 generation, I completed 32 games and out of those 32 games, I completed Splinter Cell Conviction, Sleeping Dogs and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag twice. Thus far, during the PS4/Xbox One generation, I have completed 12 games thus far and out of those 12 games, I completed The Evil Within and The Order: 1886 twice.

Can also add in The Last of Us / Remastered since I played it once on PS3 and PS4. I do want to play The Evil Within again though since they finally released a patch that eliminates the black bars and since I played the game both times on 480p, I want to play it again in 1080p.

As for The Witcher III, im definitely playing this game again but not until early/mid 2016 once the expansions get released and the patches are over and done with. I have to really enjoy a game to play it more than once.

And I have a lot of games that I want to play too. It all depends on how good the game is, if it's worth playing again and most importantly, if you enjoyed it enough to where you can enjoy it a second time despite knowing everything in the game. In regards to The Witcher III, the answer is a hell yeah.

I wish the DLC was an add-on to the story.

Nope. Addicted to Gwent. Also did you know two expansions are coming out one 10+ hours and onr 20+ hours. Both about the size of The Witcher 2?

Never played Gwent through my play throughs.....I'd rather play the dice game they had in witcher 2.

I did the Battle at Kaer Morhen. Good Lordy that was pretty damn epic. I managed to get a full crew defending, but I wonder how different things would have been without some of the characters.

Drinking with Lambert and Eskiel before gathering up everybody was pretty fun. It made me actually like Lambert and "get" his relationship with Geralt.

Speaking of Gwent, does anybody have a good checklist of the cards and who to play? I have been playing everybody I've come into contact with and have completed all the Gwent quests. Unfortunately I am apparently still missing some cards.

What is everybody's favorite Witcher gear? I have Wolven and Griffin upgraded to Superior. Griffin is very regal with the sculpted shoulder and knee plates. Wolven armor feels like Geralt is about to start a hard rock band.

I've barely touched any games since I finished this.

Every time I try I just know I'll be disappointed. Part of it is due to me being busy at work and with a lot of social stuff over the weekend, but I really am getting a "nothing is good enough" vibe when I look through my huge backlog and game collection.

I canceled my pre-order for Mad Max and I'm not sure when I'll get to Metal Gear Solid, because I'm nearing the end of the game and am actually looking forward to starting another play through on Death March.

I was watching my cousin play on his second play-through the other night and I miss the sense of exploration and wonder that the majority of the first act contained for me. Plus, I already know which choices I want to change and have plans on visiting Skellige first. By the time I got there I felt burnt out on clearing the map.
