There would be an icon under your health bar telling you if you've been poisoned. If you've been taking too many potions too quickly then you're toxic. Gotta watch your toxicity bar in that case. Can't spam swallow.

Also, little yellow gas clouds in some caves, underground areas, and swamps will poison you if you walk into them so be careful. Geralt usually coughs when this happens in addition to the poison icon by your health bar as kingkilla mentioned.

A select few enemies can also poison you if they hit you.

If you have golden oriole, poison will no longer affect you.

Be jealous of me too[emoji12] . Got a $50 gift card from my mom for Father's day and using it on this gem. Hope to play for the first time later tonight. Played Witcher 2 through games with gold but haven't finished it.

Apart from Letho I don't think any of the choices make a difference other than filling out lore.

Still, I would like to revisit 2 (maybe even attempt 1) and witness the badassery of Vernon Roche.

Since I started up last week I am 20-25 hours into my Death March playthrough. I've followed up on Ciri in Velen and will cross the Pontar once I do some tidying up in the swamps. Apart from a couple contracts I have Return to Crookback Bog and Forefather's Eve left before I head to Novigrad.

Throughout my time playing one thing keeps sticking in my head and its how different somebody's else's game can be played if they did not do any or even half of the character side quests. You run around with Keira for 5 or so hours and encounter one of the best quests of the game. Yet, you don't even have to do her quests. Its insane to me how the team put so much effort into even the optional quests. All the effort and care is clear and it builds everything up so much more. The world is full of characters that actually feel real and plausible. Even after 100-200 hours with the game I cannot get over how well done everything is.

Have a question for you guys and all input is welcome. I am on my third play thru, starting from scratch to fully get into the story again.

So believe it or not but in my other play thrus I have not done the DLC at all. So when did you guys play the DLC? During the main story or after it was over?Where do you all think it fits best into a play thru?

Thanks for your opinions as always, just curious what you all have done.

Hearts of Stone I would say once you hit the right level/while exploring around Novigrad.

Blood and Wine, IMO, fits best after the main game, even if the ending steps on it a bit. Doesn't make much sense to me, Geralt running off to another land for a contract while under the imminent threat of the white hunt.

                      WOW!!! This game!!

I played The Witcher 2 and while it had some great bones, since it was a little dated graphically by the time I got around to it (Feb 2015), I didn't get too far into it before picking up something else on the XBone. I'm gonna go back to that game soon enough, but The Witcher 3...this is up there w/ RDR and Mass Effect, and honestly given the system it's on, this I can see already will be the best game I've ever played until something like ME: Andromeda knocks it off

I am not that far in at all either, but I can make this statement soundly and without hesitation. I've only ventured to White Orchard and have not spoken to the Nilfgaard guards yet to find out about Yennifer, opting to embark on a Witcher contract and help out the smithy w/ his arson investigation; the former quest being so awesome and like a Batman investigation on steroids.

The world is amazing and I know I'm just in a small village. Its a living breathing world with young and old (SEE it CAN be done Bethesda ), and the weather dynamics and everything just make it so immersive. It can be completely spooky roaming a forest on foot at dusk with the wind blowing and not knowing what might jump out of the brush. Just amazing and I am so ready for what lies ahead!

I opted to play it on the highest difficulty and so far its been fun and challenging but not frustratingly difficult. I've died three or four times, but I just need to focus on dodging and using my signs appropriately.

                      Wow...this is a 10

Aw, man, you haven't even made it to Velen yet and you love the game like that? Wait until you get to the Baron. That's when this game officially became the best game I've ever played.

I just beat the game today. I spent a year of bull****ting around because I didn't want the game to end. I started a new game within an hour. Hands down, easily, without a doubt the best game I've ever played.
