I just picked this game up last week. I'm late, I know. What are some tips and tricks that you guys have for a newbie? What should I focus on leveling up? Etc.

Re: The Witcher 3
I got rid of this game sometime in March during a trade-in special with the intention of buying it digitally. I missed a couple of deals on PSN and got sidetracked with other games, so I kind of just forgot about it for a while. I got the itch again recently, so I jumped on the deal when I saw it in the PSN store yesterday. The first thought I had after playing it after all this time was that I should've never stopped in the first place. What an incredible game. The depth of each quest is unequaled. There's just so much content - it's ridiculous. I'd urge anyone who hasn't played it yet to grab it while it's cheap right now.
I'm currently level 23, so I still have tons to do in the campaign. I finished up the quest where you had to find a guy and then take out a Giant. Awesome stuff. This game can legitimately last you years.Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
I have already played this game thru 3 times, once with all of the DLC , and I just started my fourth playthru. I know I have said it before, but I honestly don't see a point in my life where I will NOT be playing this game. I kept my PS3 so I could always play Red Dead, and Mass Effect. So I will always keep my PS4 for this one. I will even buy it again on Steam or GOG during this Christmas sale to play with Mods and stuff. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: The Witcher 3
Any price is worth this game. Really it is. I purposely did not buy the seasons pass because I fell in love with this game and the company and I was going to give them as much of my money as I could. Then they gave us 16 pieces of free DLC and then they discounted the first DLC, Hearts of Stone. Bought Blood and wine at full price and it was still less than the what the original seasons pass would have been.

I feel you. I will never part with this game. Just like my old Baldur's Gate and Morrowind, this game will go down as one of the greatest of the current gen.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

Re: The Witcher 3
For anyone just starting the game having not played it before, I have only one important piece of advice for you.
ENJOY the game and allow yourself to become emotionally connected with the characters, story, world, etc. I will always play this game as Bullit and Graphik have mentioned, but nothing will beat that first play through when I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened next and then at the end of the game when I had those rush of emotions of it being over.
As far as builds and attribute upgrade questions, I'll keep it short.
1) Signs and Fast/Strong attack build are the most accessible at the beginning of the game.
2) A sign and alchemy mixture build will make you feel the most "Witcher"
3) A build that is heavily focused in Alchemy takes the most time and leveling for it to be rewarding but once you get the necessary unlocks and upgrades for it, you'll be pretty much unstoppable on even the hardest difficulty.
If you have any more questions as you go through it, I'm sure any of the great people here would be happy to help including me.
Enjoy the journey!Fino Alla Fine

I also have one piece of advice for you, play on death march. No matter if you're a beast, or you're terrible at the game, start on death march. That difficulty is just so rewarding, once the game clicks for you.Last edited by kingkilla56; 11-23-2016, 07:20 PM.Comment
