This game is an OCD nightmare...

I'm at level 10 now, so I'm able to explore with a little more confidence... The question marks man.. So many QUESTIONS MARKS!!!

I'm playing on the second highest difficulty, broken bones... I think that's what it's called.

Anyways, the combat is really starting to open up, and I'm finding more opportunities to feel like a bad ***. It's nice to finally be at a point where I can easily dispatch of most bandits and ghouls like a "real" witcher would.

I wish there was a way to track my time played in this game.. I feel like I'm going to put a ridiculous amount of time in here, and it would be nice to know exactly how long I've been playing.

From the inventory screen, press R2 on PS4 and that should bring up weapon and armour stats with a time counter in the bottom right corner.

Despite what you have heard this game really is not that much of time sink. I just finished a play thru with finishing all of the DLC and it only took me 309 hours. So don't worry.

Oh awesome. Thanks for the tip.

300 hours! My god... I was hoping I would be able to wrap this up before my son is born in February.

Whatever, I'm sure my wife will pick up the slack.

Congratulations and nope! Even a "quick" run thru is going to push 100 hours just for the game. 10/30 hours for each expansion.

Contemplating picking the complete edition up. I never played 1 or 2 does that matter?

No it does not matter, you can watch a synopsis on YouTube if you'd like, there are many of them. At the beginning of the game, it asks you if you want to simulate having a Witcher 2 save file which means it will act as if you played it and you get to answer some questions and make some decisions which will impact your play through of the Witcher 3.

This video does a good job of explaining what they mean:

                  Not at all..

The game actually does a pretty good job at filling you in on the lore of the Witcher universe...

Combine that with a YouTube video or two and you're good to go.

                    Re: The Witcher 3

For all of you lucky first timers to the Witcher Universe, I would like to point out a couple of things for you in case you don't already know.

The Witcher games are based on a very entertaining series of books written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. There are currently 6 books as well as a series of Graphic Novels. I highly recommend them all.

The first two games do not need to be played to get into the 3rd one as others have stated before. But I would highly recommend at least watching play thru's of them. This world, its lore and its people is very deep and very well developed in the game world by CDPR and it would be a shame to miss it.

Lastly, take you time. Read the information given to you in the game, whether in the form of books, notes or NPC's it all just makes the world come alive. Also as part of the last little bit of guidance, EXPLORE! Some of the best moments that come in this game, including some really fun unexpected quests come from random things just placed in the world. They are not even on the map, they are just tucked away for folks to find. They have no real impact if missed but add so much to the world.

Just checked my stats - 175 hours played. This is after not touching this for many months. I didn't realize I had put this much time in already and not even come close to finishing the main quest. $25 right now is a steal for the amount of good content you get.

That's exactly why I asked. I saw it has over 100 hours of gameplay plus 50 hours on each expansion. How can you pass that deal up?

So played late last night after the family went to bed. Haven't jumped while playing a game in a long time. Really a great game

I heard the hours played is glitched due to the meditation. But anyway I beat the game 3 times already. 2 times on the PS4 and 1 time on the xbox one

I hated that you cannot do new game plus after 2 times beating the game so I have stated my 3rd play through on ps4 with the pro and now am at level 12

easily have close to 375 hours

It was in the beginning before the second or third patch I believe. It was due to the save files if you used multiple saves I believe. (Honestly cant remember exactly).

Just found out that the complete edition counts as it own game. Only played for 40 hours, and just got to Novigrad, so I really didn't do much. Im not even mad at this since i really enjoyed what I played through. Well no I get to give Death March a try, but not sure what build to go with. I was mainly focusing on a combat build. Thinking of doing a Sign/Alchemy build, or Alchemy/Combat. Not sure if to level alchemy from the start or wait.
