Got my first white whale today! Love this game so much. I have put so much time into it already and just can't wait to get back. I still have a ways to go upgrading the Jackdaw, but I do have the hull maxed out. Man O War's are no big deal for me now, which is awesome.

I am about 44% done with the story but only have 3 more forts (all hard) to clear before the ocean is wide open. I love finding treasures with the map. One thing I have not followed up on are the Templar missions for the armor. They each seem to stretch on forever.

Shark Hunter outfit just feels more piratey so I've been pillaging and combing beaches with that. Axl Rose the pirate.

Also, I got the gun swords, I like the look of them but they slow down kill animations too much, basically halve the number of kills you can get from a smoke bomb. The animations and such are cool though.

I want to go ahead and do the naval missions, but I remember seeing something about the community stuff not showing up after defeating all the forts, is that confirmed?

I haven't seen community items since sequence 3 or so. How do you have the golden flint locks if you haven't done the naval missions? I've done the naval missions but like I said, I haven't seen anything from the community since like day 3.

I haven't seen community items since sequence 3 or so. How do you have the golden flint locks if you haven't done the naval missions? I've done the naval missions but like I said, I haven't seen anything from the community since like day 3.

First time I tried, got my *** handed to me quick, tried to mortar it....bad idea. So, at that I figured this was the one you were supposed to ram. Damn is it fast and, when you haven't rammed a ship at all in the game (aside from the little ****s that get in the way), it's not as easy as it sounds. Third try I got in some rams, had it flashing red, but it just wasn't enough, so I started firing broadsides and noticed that, while they didn't do a whole lot of damage, they did open up the occasional swivel gun target and they did decent damage. Fourth try, she went down easy peasy, barely took one bar off my life before she sank like a stone. I just rammed, then while gaining new angle to ram again I continuously hit with broadsides. Hitting with broadsides seemed to stagger the AI a bit, like it wasn't sure if it should run (like it had been doing before) or angle in for a broadside of it's own, which allowed me to get in front of it to turn into another ram.

I've taken over all the forts but I haven't done the naval contracts yet. I have never seen a white whale on PC. Then again I have no friends on UPlay, if that makes any difference.

I like using the Aztec Uniform for some of the tougher ships, but I mainly use the Templar cloak.

Ah, ok, Ima have to cop that black cloak it's pretty clean. I usually roll either pirate captain or the Templar armor. Some of the suits are ugly tho. I got that stealth one and with the character it just looks horrible.

Ah, ok, Ima have to cop that black cloak it's pretty clean. I usually roll either pirate captain or the Templar armor. Some of the suits are ugly tho. I got that stealth one and with the character it just looks horrible.

I have been rolling with the Stealth costume only because I was hoping it actually helped with stealth in the game. The description kinda led me to believe that. Is that the case, or is it just for looks?

Idk lol. I'm pretty sure I was spotted just as easy the one time I wore it. I just felt with knowing Dudes personality that the outfit just didn't fit. :/. Pirate captain to me looks dope though. I'll mess with the stealth one again and see. Do you feel it works?

Has anyone confirmed that capturing all the forts means no more community events such as white whales? I have 1 more fort to go but I don't want risk it.

I have all forts and haven't seen a community event, but then again, I haven't seen a community event since like day 3 after next gen launch and I just captured the forts on Sunday. (Haven't been on since Sunday though, but either way doesn't really make a difference. )

I think it's more linked to sequence or overall progression. But it shouldn't be. I need white whale for crafting. :/
