Is it necessary to do the Optional Objectives during Missions? Does it effect me if I don't?

Just did the part with the IT guy and hacking into computers, finding stuff about Desmond. Interesting.

This game definitely has me addicted. The European cities were cool as hell, but colonial America and this Caribbean setting has been a very nice change-up!

This game has been far better than I expected. In AC3 I hated the boating missions and was afraid this game would be the same engine with more water missions. I've found myself actually liking the off-land missions more than last year's game.

I try to. I think in most cases they are fairly easy to get. It might depend on your style of play though too. Heck I've ended up doing the optional objectives in some cases without even paying attention to what they were when the mission started.

I plan to go back and try for 100% on everything. I've done that with past AC games.

I never saw them state the optional objectives until after the mission, so no, I did not try.

I generally haven't liked *** creed games. Convince me that this one is better.

I absolutely cannot do the Naval Contract A Spanish Plague. I can't find Spanish gunboats anywhere.

Some of them I have completed before even accepting them. I guess I just picked up some cargo or destroyed some ships on my way to the places.

Yeah I did that with a couple of the cargo missions. I guess I had enough cargo stored to complete them.

In other news, all I need is elite fire barrel storage and the Jackdaw will be 100% upgraded. And now I have no idea where to find that lol. Every time I go to a tavern for information, they tell me where a Royal Convoy is. And I need to know where corpses with treasure maps are.

In other news, all I need is elite fire barrel storage and the Jackdaw will be 100% upgraded. And now I have no idea where to find that lol. Every time I go to a tavern for information, they tell me where a Royal Convoy is. And I need to know where corpses with treasure maps are.

Same here. I don't remember where you pick up the map but the location of where the treasure is with that elite plan can't be reached until later in the game. I have the map but the area is unavailable right now.

I've got the entire map unlocked.

I've got the entire map unlocked.

No I meant the actual town/island is unavailable when I go there. I took down all the forts and have the whole map unlocked as far as locations. But there are a couple of spots down south that you can't visit, or at least I can't and I just started seq 8. I get the "area unavailable in this memory" message.

By the way I've gone to every location I can and gotten all secrets which is a corpse/map or message in a bottle. I picked up the map for the elite fire barrel plan somewhere along the way. Just can't go there yet because of how far along I am in the game.
