At what part in the Story am I able to upgrade the Jackdaw?

I just finished the part where I go around Nassau recruiting mates.

Yeah also I would loot all the chests in Havana and Nassau for money, plus do as many assassin's contracts as possible. Also target ships with metal and wood for your upgrades. One on the best early game upgrades is the cargo upgrades to transport more cargo and harpoon boat upgrades to hunt whales.

Lastly when Kenway's fleet opens up to you, PLEASE do the missions. I make close to 30,000R a day running those missions through the app on my iphone. If you need a boost, add us a friends and we can boost you to speed up the missions for you as well.

It's very similar to the assassin training missions minigame from the previous two. In your stateroom (door right in front of the wheel on the Jackdaw) you send ships off on missions. It takes a little while before it unlocks.

and IMO the single most important part of the entire game. It dramatically changes the game because of the money you can make. Money leads to a better ship. Better ship leads to defeating bigger supplied ships with ease. I have a pretty good system down now and if I told you how much money I made today now you wouldn't believe me.

Plus if you have an apple device you can do them on there when you are away from the PS4 or any other console. I set them on the bus on the way to work for long missions (12-18 hours) and then when I get off I collect my duckets.

Works with android devices also. I do the fleet missions on my Galaxy S3 while at work. Nice little app.

I did. I bought the collector's edition when it was half off at best buy. I use it for help with warehouse raids and optional objectives
