Plus a weakness for rpgs especially turn based.

This game will not hold your hand. There are no neon signs above quest givers or bright shiny paths of light telling you were to go next. If you want to know what's going on in the story... you have to read. Oh, and take/steal everything you can. Everything has a use. You see an innocent looking shovel on the ground.... grab it. Those who have played, will know what I mean.

Loving the combat. You have got to assess your enemy, terrain, etc... and plan your attack(s). The combat AI is pretty good as well. The enemies will move and try to flank your guys, as well as heal themselves via spells or potions. (Try to take out Priest/Mages as quick as possible. ) They are not just straw men put before your guys that you can hack down in a few turns with little resistance. They will also target certain members of your party in different situations.

I'm still doing stuff around the first town, and I've been playing a little every night since Monday.

Well, that's all for now. Again, this game is not going to be for everyone. However, for those that are looking for something to take you back to RPG gaming like we had back in the day... scrape some coins together and give this one a shot.
You pretty much nailed it. Man what a fun game.
I'm making sure I pick up everything. I can't believe how seemingly deep the game is.
I'm going pretty slow as to not get overwhelmed.
I've crafted a few things and have had a few fights.

Did figure out (not sure if the tutorial dungeon said anything or not about it..if so I missed it) that you can open the map and set markers and type in a description of the marker. This will help a lot as, like you said, there is no hand holding whatsoever.

Going to watch a movie then back into it!

Me: "Lets dig this up, ok?"

Me: "Oh but man they keep asking us like twice about doing it. Somethings up"
Sky and Me: "Oh well lets do it, we are heartless mothers"

Followed by extreme laughter after what happened.....XD

                      Steam trades.

#1 rule I have found that works..

ALWAYS check steamtrades before ever buying from steam store. I get games from traders all the time for cheap.

Most of the sellers ask for TF2 keys (roughly 2.50 right now, always changing), for divinity they want 9 keys. You buy those from the steam marketplace.

I didn't wanna put $25 in wallet funds to buy 9 keys which were like 22.47 so I found a very reputable trader selling the game (through steam, no keys or any crap like that) for 13.50 Euros which is around $18.50.

I paid through paypal, received game and put in an hour so far. I recommend only ever trading with guys with pages and pages of +rep to avoid any issues. Been doing this for years and never had one scam.

wanted to add this, they trade the game to you through actual steam (if you have never done a trade) that way you know what game you are getting and it goes into your gift library until you move it over.

Man, it takes me like 30 tries every time I need to remember my Steam username/password since I only ever use it maybe once a year at the most.

Will definitely scrounge up a cheap copy this week sometime.

Nice to see OS getting some love from OS !!

This game seems to be doing very well from just word of mouth and no real marketing. Hopefully publishers will realize ppl still want classic style RPGs with tactical gameplay and minimal hand holding.

I think it was pretty well established that the genre wasn't dead after the Project eternity and then the Torment kickstarter campaigns.

Been enjoying it so far, spent 2 hours in my first game then decided to start over with some different classes now that I understood how the game worked. Felt like I spent way too much time just exploring the first city and going back/forth before I finally did any real killing.
