No, as a rule I avoid company and fan run message boards for games, especially if I have a criticism.

You know what I feel like this game (RPGs in general really) needs? Custom item vendors. I mean, these games all have blacksmiths who are usually vendors, and in half of these games you have to go to these smiths to find out how to create custom items, but yet they don't do custom orders themselves. So you could go to a smith with the right skills and say "I want a +5 greatsword with lightning" and they will make it for you after a little game time and charge you like 10 times the base value to balance vs learning smithing yourself.

      Re: Divinity: Original Sin

I picked this game up this weekend. Dboys and I played pretty much non-stop yesterday. We are still on the first map. We are having a lot of fun right now.

Another thing I hope they adjust in co-op is the dialogue. It's pretty hard to follow the story when one person engages a conversation without the other right next to you. Using the Log by filtering out the banter has been working, but sometimes you get a little disconnected with whats going on. We try to wait for each other but when you are independently walking around the town conversations just happens at times.

I wouldn't mind a dialogue box popping up in the foreground, especially for mission critical conversation, where both players have to click next to continue. The story lines would be much easier to follow and it would allow the conversation awards to be shared.

Yeah, co-op wasn't implemented very well at all. It would get a little better once you get the pyramid stones, but the storyline was just about impossible to follow.

Sometimes this game is odd. Big troll 5 feet in front of me, cast the improved vision spell on me, yet somehow he is still out of sight.

            Re: Divinity: Original Sin

Found my favorite spell in the game, meteor strike:

            In action:

Pre-battle, 4 goblins, 2 somesuch demons, and one void demon.

After casting this is what is left:

It's really kind of OP, anything weaker than a warrior type (high defense/HP) within the spell effect range is done for.

I'm almost at the end, and I have more issues. Well, really just one more, the combat. In the beginning the combat was very tactical, you had to plan and be careful. Now that I am close to the end the combat is tedious. The need for tactics didn't keep up with the new gear and spells, so the game just gives you a **** ton of enemies that don't really pose a threat, enemies that have really strong armor and lots of HP that don't pose a threat, enemies with resistances to all but one or two damage types so you can barely hurt it, or an enemy that has a ton of HP but doesn't pose a threat except for their one insta-death attack. One guy had like 36k hp and had an attack where he spawned lava at one of your chars feet. There was no warning, no telegraph, no defense really, other than to keep rezzing (at this point both casters have a resurrect spell) the dead and slogging away at the thing. The combat just isn't as fun, it's become a chore.

Agreed. Burns and I tried coop on the game when it first launched, with Burns hosting. Battles worked out fairly well, but as the secondary player most of the story was lost on me. Later I found a tab that shows 'some' of the dialog, but not all of it from what I could tell. Definitely hard to follow along as the secondary player.

New companion and improved co-op dialog DLC is out and the support for OS isn't done yet In a day where they try and nickel and dime you for every little thing, you gotta love these Belgians. Nice to see Swen give Fargo and Wasteland 2 a pop at the end of the vid too.

                    Re: Divinity: Original Sin

Enhanced Edition announced, free for owners of Original Sin, coming to PS4 and Xbox One:

As well as local co-op, split screen and controller support, the Enhanced Edition also features:
                    • All characters are now fully voiced by AAA-voice actors
                    • New quests, new characters, and new content
                    • Entirely new gameplay modes and character builds
                    • A heavily rewritten story with a brand new ending
                    • Massively reworked visuals and sound effects
                    • And much more to be announced in the coming months!
                    A Whole New Game

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition is a completely separate game: not an update to Divinity: Original Sin. Both games will remain available on PC and Mac, and it is important to note that they are totally different entities, so if you've already bought Original Sin you'll see separate listings for Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition in your Steam Library. This means that saved games can't be transferred from Divinity: Original Sin to the Enhanced Edition. This is largely because of the technical changes we've made to how the game looks and feels, but the story has also been rewritten so heavily that most saved games would no longer be compatible with the plot. (After all, it wouldn't make sense to load a game in which you're halfway through a quest line that's been replaced with something different.)

From the very first day of production, we designed the Enhanced Edition to be optimized for DirectX 11 graphics. For our Windows players, this means that Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition will require a 64-bit system and a graphics card with DirectX 11 hardware support. However, both editions of the game will remain available to everyone on Steam, so Windows players with 32-bit systems and DirectX 9 will always be able to play Divinity: Original Sin.

Love seeing some of these PC strategy games making their way to PS4. I've never had a decent gaming PC, but there are games I'd like to try. I'll definitely be giving this and Wasteland 2 a look.

A small correction. These game are pure rpgs. Ofc you have to use strategy in general.
Get them both. It's rpg gaming heaven and by far the best games for PS4 since its launch.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I love me some open world RPG lites like Skyrim and Fallout (3 and NV, never played the originals), but I've always wanted to dive into a more complex RPG.
