Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Here's an excerpt from the article that I was talking about relative to DZ ranking and the bracket system.
"As you hit DZ Rank level 30, the zoning is*gone and you are able to explore the whole zone again, but with tougher enemies and better loot. Each of these subzones can be entered by either the aforementioned checkpoints*or walls."
DZ01: 10-12
DZ02: 13-15
DZ03: 16-18
DZ04: 22-24
DZ05: 27-29
DZ06: 29-30
Notice how it says when you reach level 30 you are able to explore the whole zone again (meaning DZ01-DZ06); however, it will be a special level 30 only instance with higher enemies. This tells me that as your ranking up you will not be able to go back into lower tiers to pick on noob players or whatever. You can only enter your current rank zone tier. This is not stated as such but the wording about reaching level 30 and being able to explore all of dark zone again sure seems like it. The only thing I am confused by is the DZ01 levels starting at 10-12, not sure where 1-9 will go.
The Dark Zone is a walled-off quarantine zone in the middle of Manhattan, with the goal to stop the contagion of the once as flu suspected virus. Linked

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I would love the ability to crouch! I spent most of Sunday night in the DZ as a lone wolf. The tension just ramps up when you're alone.
As part of a group of friends it's fun because you can do pretty much anything and know you have firepower on your side if anyone messes with you guys. But when you're all alone and you know that odds are you'll be outnumbered and outgunned in any and every situation, you really learn to keep your *** in cover, constantly check every direction around you and really have a vigilance of your surroundings like a hawk.
You also learn to keep a hair trigger on your guns because you never know when you'll have to start unloading on that stranger you just passed in the middle of the street should they decide they want to shoot at you.
It really is two different styles of play in the DZ, when playing as a lone wolf versus playing as part of a group.
Hope they do something to tweak damage in the PVP side of things. I know you can build "Tanks" and there are ways to increase your health, but it takes an awful lot of bullets to kill someone. Look at the video Jared showed where he snuck up on the guy and hit him in the head with a flurry of bullets (17 to be exact in the head) before he was "mortally wounded".....
Enjoy the game looking forward to the retail release and playing w/other OSers.
Dont expect them to make kill times quicker.

I don't know what they could do, but I hope Ubisoft has a plan for the DZ for people who aren't there from day one. You will have groups of high level guys who stay in the low level DZ just picking on noobs and folks who get a late start. I'll be day one on PS4, but probably a month to 6 weeks behind on XB1 and if there is nothing to balance out some of those aspects I could see myself losing interest rather quickly. Here's an excerpt from the article that I was talking about relative to DZ ranking and the bracket system.

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Actually, staying on the Diablo theme, something just caught my eye on that game's stats page that I wasn't aware of. For the "Extra damage to elites" category it includes damage to elite monsters and other players. During the beta I recall the same ability in The Division saying it included damage to "named enemies". In its strictest sense, other players are "named" like the NPC elites are so do those guns and mods with that ability provide a damage boost in Darkzone PvP?Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
*Slowly stands, fidgeting, nervous to open up to the group*
Hi, I'm Jason. I'm 33 years old and a Divisionaholic currently going through withdrawal. While driving to and from work in downtown Dallas I can't help but imagine the streets empty and quarantined, ripe for exploration and grinding. Every time I glance down at Waze I hope to see a Side Mission or Encounter, only to be disappointed by my ETA to my office or home. Yesterday while waking to Chipotle I found an old backpack abandoned in an alley. Instinctually I picked it up excited for what loot may be hidden inside. Instead, I found a box of saltines, an empty beer can, and three unused condoms that expired in 1997. Sadly, none of those items will help me level up.
Only a couple more weeks fellas!Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Saw this good info on reddit.
I know a lot of people are still scrounging for any bit of information everyday (me included) trying to get their fix before release. So instead of looking for new things, I took the time to go back to TheDivisionGame streams from this past weekend and take note of questions answered by the Devs. I've watched over 12+ hours of gameplay, and they clarified a lot of things people were worried about in Beta translating to the Full Game so hopefully I can ease some worries as well with this list to let people know things they may have missed. Me being a noob, I did not note the timestamps of these, so I apologize in advance, but trust me, I would not want to steer the community wrong! You can access all the streams/podcasts from TheDivisionGame twitch channel.
The list is as follows:
You do not start the game at level 4, it starts at level 1. (You know nothing Jon Snow)
The DZ vendors in Beta were purposely given (purple) items, they will not be so easily attainable full game. These were placed in for testing purposes.
There is an "in-game loot loop system" that we haven't experienced (interested in what this entails)
To those worried the Dark Zone is the only viable way to get the Best-In-Slot gear, equivalent and better gear can also be earned through PvE activities (missions, encounters, etc.) during a community podcast it was stated, "Some of the best gear in the game you'll be able to get through crafting" (Entirely unexplored system hype)
The appearance menu will have an updated UI come release to avoid the clutter we encountered in Beta
Missions will have 3 difficulties: Normal, Hard, Challenge Mode (My speculation: If it is anything reminiscent of WoW CMs, we're in for a treat)
It was stated by a dev there was end-game (besides the DZ) they weren't able to talk about quite yet
Majority of bugs reported/experienced during both Beta's have already been fixed for full game, they are beta builds for that reason
The full game will have 3 different colorblind settings
After launch, there will be weekly maintenance, addressing bugs, fixes, balancing, house cleaning, etc.
The BoO will have a DZ Funds Vendor that allows you to convert regular funds into DZ funds (based on an exchange rate of course)
Again, these are things that were not clarified or unknown for many. Lots of questions asked could not be answered and for good reason. If we knew everything there was to the game before release, it would diminish the experience. I'm sure I missed some things, but this is why we have a dedicated community. Feel free to add on things you know that aren't in the list you'd like the community to know!
Edit: Words are hard
Edit 2: I'm now gonna sleep until March 8th
Edit 3: A link to TheDivisonGame channel for anyone else who wants to do research http://www.twitch.tv/thedivisiongame/v/49020493
Edit 4: You people are awesome and I love your faces
Edit 5: Added info regarding DZ Fund Vendor at base (shoutout to the community!)

That's great information there. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL THE 8TH COMES. Feel like I used to feel when Madden/NCAA and BBall games would get released.Moderator
