The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
They went from one extreme all the way to the other. And now it's rogue town because people have nothing better to do in the game than face other players.
You can only kill Animal Cannibal and Shadowshot so many times in three months.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Especially when
A.) there's very little risk to going rogue now
B.) the loot those named enemies drop is just stuff to be broken down into crafting materials. I'm looking forward to getting 240 items from the high level dark zone"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Another article regarding the update. All I can say is how f-cking stupid can Massive be? Now rogues can cut the extraction cord and take everything? Great. Go into dark zone and gather useless items to breakdown because everything you already have is higher but now you get to also have the fun of standing around with your d-ck in your hands waiting for the helicopter to fly away with it. Brilliant.Comment

I remember debating people on here right after launch about the PvPness of the Dark Zone. Bottom line is my side lost that debate hard. The PvE side of the dark zone has become secondary to the pvp and unfortunately that has alienated a decent sized chunk of the stable community who without the DZ only have, at the moment at least, repeating the same stale missions as their end game for loot drops that aren't going to make them better with the exception of a once a week week random weekly award.
It's horribly unbalanced. A lot of the "I just wanna log in and gank some noobs" guys quit the game already while dedicated PvE guys still grind away mostly fruitlessly. I never understood why Massive choose to cater to that one side only.
There has to be a better way. There has to be a way to get PvPers what they want along with PvEers. I feel like at this point Massive has taken their stance with the Dark Zone and they are going to stick to it stubbornly, their player base be damned. I wish the Gank Squad'ers would realize that compromises need to be made for the greater good. For this game to have a long and healthy life everyone needs to be happy, not just them
The whole "if you don't like PvP then stay out of the DZ" argument is flawed because endgame economy/dynamics are unbalanced right now, and a big reason why the community is dying
The way the Dark Zone was set up at launch, IMO, wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Changes were made too soon. Knee jerk reactions. Rogue activity would have gone up once people geared up and maxed out naturally. Before that could happen they made the "rogue friendly" changes and tilted it way to one side and, well, that's a wrap. That's all she wrote.
The VERY LEAST they need to do is make hunting rogues more rewarding. The success rate for rogues right now has to be insanely high mostly because they get away with it far too often
I've played this game for hundreds and hundreds of hours. I love this game. The crew and I used to wake up early snd stay up late to play this game together, it was awesome. I miss that a lot. I hope it gets going I the right direction soonLast edited by The JareBear; 05-18-2016, 12:08 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Yeah, that whole new rogue mechanic just further turns me off of this game. Now not only I have to survive long enough to get my stuff on the chopper, but now I have to survive until the entire ****ing chopper actually leaves for my extracted gear to actually be safe.
Yet more positives for going rogue, but absolutely ZERO ****ing negatives at all for going rogues or dying as a rogue. May was just make everyone ****ing rogue the second they walk into the DZ. That seems to be what Massive is trying to do at this rate.Comment

Unfortunately this is what the Dark Zone is now. It's the Gank Zone.

Nah the PvE of the darkzone was pure garbage as well. The game would have died all the same if the DZ was what it was at launch to this day. It needed to be changed. Massive just went too far the opposite way with penalties and economy changes. Additionally Massive took too long with the brackets. If like geared people were matched with one another it wouldn't be as bad. But 200+ gear score matching with 160 gear score is a joke and a half. The player base in a competitive setting cannot be that different on a power output level. It isn't fair no matter how they sell the darkzone to us.
But adding the cutting of the extraction line at this stage in the game is kind of a big slap in the face by them. When griefing is so rampant, why give such a strong grief mechanism to the community? Massive is fostering a DayZ, h1z1 grief fest game, and I'm not sure what makes them think that will bring their players back.Comment

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I love the game but it's just one cluster**** after another. I purchased the digital gold edition so I'll receive all the DLC / updates etc. But that doesn't mean I'll be playing it regularly again, or anytime soon for that matter.
Between UC4 multi-player and Overwatch I'm in no desperate need for a third shooter anyways. I also have BF1 down the road (I've played BF4 about 1200 hrs to date) so I'm a bit upset with the Division but I'm not hurting.
Maybe they'll turn it around like Diablo 3 and destiny. It's still only been a couple of months.Comment

I respect your opinion though. We've already gone round and round over this. I agree with the rest of what you said. I feel like ultimately we want the same thing are on the same side.Last edited by The JareBear; 05-18-2016, 01:51 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
I just purchased the digital version before I read everything on here......just a 50 dollar mistake. However, I am just a level 5 right now and just starting and actually love the game right now. Reading this thread gives me the sadz because I see the brick wall that is coming in the near future

Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)
Gonna be hard for me to play this game after 1.2. I play mostly solo in the DZ because Massive has run all my friends off. Now I need to either defend an extraction or time it so i put my stuff on the rope w/ less than 6 seconds left?
Either way solo players are so screwed.
