They were absolutely impossible for me with other orcs around. There was one that ascended to War Chief back when I was playing heavily and he had two captains around him. He was absolutely impossible. And rudy has it right they are called combat master.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Those are the ones you needed to brand a chief in order to kill?

CMH, you can kill one without branding him, but branding him is pretty handy.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
By the end once I could brand tons of people and stuff I did start to find it easier, but I'm sure I could have tweaked some stuff.
It wasn't easy per se, but i could always run away and reset, or loop and get health, etc.
Great game though, one everyone should play IMO. So much fun.
Honestly, I like that the difficulty wasn't too hard, made it fun and not frustrating to play through.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Biggest thing this game has going for it is when I die, it's my fault. I never feel cheated. I didn't block when I should have, got too greedy or impatient. Even if I'm in a new game with almost no special moves, I'm still capable of beating any opponent. It just will take a lot more work than the late game.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Beat the game last night. Just under 49 hrs with around 78% of the side stuff. By far the most time I have put into a non sports/multiplayer game.
Overall I really, really enjoyed it. I guess I would most just ditto the prevailing comments already made in the thread.
>side quest etc were more fun than the actual story missions
>combat was a blast. Definitely Batman like
>game was tough but fair early. Died a lot early on but it rarely felt cheap
>the game got too easy after you could Brand folks in the second half
>ending mission wasn't very challenging
Not a perfect game but fun for what it was. You always had something to do and you could quickly get into the action. Glad you guys pointed me in the right direction.Last edited by mrclutch; 05-18-2015, 10:07 AM.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

Impulse buy tonight.
Never did play this game so when I seen the GOTY Edition at BB I picked it up.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I really want this, but I kinda holding off until Christmas to buy games. Gotta make sure I pick up Mad Max, Far Cry 4, and Witcher 3, when I get this. Ima be set until The Division comes out.
Not sure if ima like the combat or not, since I never played Batman.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I finished it last night at 88% complete. I needed a bunch of outcast missions & the survival ones which I didnt like to do. Overall experince was a very entertaining one."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully
