    Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

This game really didn't hold my attention when I first bought it when it came out. I just got a PS4 Pro so I bought it again digitally, the game of the year version, and HOLY COW! Game is awesome, it looks phenomenal...really phenomenal and I'm still running a 1080p set.

I've already played it a ton more than I did originally and cannot wait to see how it looks when I get my 4K set soon.

If you have just gotten a PS4 PRO - RUN, DON'T WALK, RUN TO BUY THIS GAME ASAP!

This was great though by the end it ended up a bit easier in a way....I really want a sequel, either LOTR or not, with that engine though....the combat and concept were great, and given more time they can make it amazing.

SoM was amazing....I loved my go with this game when I played it and it's one of my unqualified recommendations. By the time I got near the end and powered up, I was an orc-slaying machine and that was incredible...very well implemented engine. The whole enemy thing with orcs you fought previously recognizing you was awesome too.

I'm sure they are making a sequel after the success of the first one and I kind of think the Pro Support was to give it some more publicity when they announce it later. Maybe E3?

I do wish they added a difficulty level. As you levelled up you became a beast. I would have liked to face some higher level bosses later on but they get capped at 20. And the final fight was a real disappointment compared to the halfway battle.

            Agreed!
Right now, I'm so powered-up that I can run into a stronghold and beat-up multiple captains and minions at once.

Would you guys recommend this game to somebody who has NEVER seen any of the Lord of The Rings movies? Never really been into the fantasy type movies but I hear the game play is phenomenal and graphics are gorgeous especially on a Pro with 4K but not sure if I'd "get it" so to speak as I've never seen the movies.

It might help a little bit for the most part there isn't much of a connection. Understanding that Rings were created that were powerful and evil is all you need to know.

This is a sword fighting game with a bow and some magical elements to it. It's a blast if you like sword and melee fighting.

I played this before I saw the movies and loved it, actually made me finally want to watch the movies which I did and they are good movies not sure why I waited so long to watch them.

You don't have to know anything about the movies to enjoy this awesome game..

                      Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I just finished this tonight after buying it close to 18 months ago. Great game and I'm not usually a fan of games that are mostly about fighting. I highly recommend it for the Nemesis system where enemies level up after beating you and even other Orcs. A great idea that gives the enemies some personality and makes them tougher to beat.

It's one of the few games I've played to 100 per cent completion.

The story can be a bit confusing and I've read the Lord of Rings/The Hobbit books and watched the movies. I had to Wikipedia the story after I was done. It might be because I forgot elements of the story over the course of the two years.

I'll probably move on to the DLC at some point.

I only bought this game recently only because it got a 4k pro update and man this game is great. Love the fighting mechanics in this game and it looks great in 4k. I got it on sale for $10 and it's well worth a lot more.

I bought it again. I started reading Fellowship and know I'll be in the mood to play with some orcs soon.

I'm in the same boat. Super late and had contemplated pulling the trigger at the $9.99 price a few times. I couldn't pass the game up $4, easy purchase.

I know that price had to get a lot of us. Heard a lot of good thing about the Nemesis system, so I figured I'd check it out. Grabbed that and the GOW Remaster.
