It's $14.99 in Canada and I am thinking about buying it again too. I never played the DLC. My one concern is I normally don't replay single player games much.

I beated this game and I would give it a 5 out of 10. Great combat but the world looks ugly, generic and lacks that LOTR atmosphere I was hoping.

I would easily give this game and 8/10 and disagree with everything you said except for the combat which is indeed a lot of fun. I found the game a bit of fresh air in a some what stagnant field. The game play mechanics with the chieftains was original and I thought the overall story was pretty good. Not Witcher good but better than some out there. I personally enjoyed it and certainly felt I was playing a LOTR game.

I wish the world was bigger so that the regions would have a unique feel to them and be more varied.

Considering you're traveling by foot most of game I understand why they kept it smaller scale.

I still think the nemesis system should be implemented in more games. Hopefully they build upon it odd there is a sequel.

Picked-up Mordor for $15. Hard to turn that down, especially considering it's a game with the same combat controls as Batman and Mad Max. Oh how I wish an open-world RPG would use the same combat mechanics.
If the Witcher or Skyrim had the same, I'd be all over it.

Anyhoo, liking it so far, but it seems I can't walk 3-feet without being gang-banged.
I'm going to have to figure out which side missions I can do so I can power up before tackling the big bosses.
The Map looks really big and spacious, but in reality it's quite small considering I only walk for 2 seconds and I seem to walk half-way thru a quandrant.

Really liking the game so far though. Love the Intel stuff, and how bosses will grow in stature and power if they dummy you.

This game was a 9/10 for me. Loved every minute of it.

The combat should be the combat for every game.

Why more games don't adopt a God of WAR, Arkham, Middle Earth battle system behooves me.

I would have liked Witcher more if it did. Ultimately the combat system killed that game for me. Even when I think about it now, I miss traveling that world and then I'm immediately reminded of fighting wolves and I remember why I can't pick it up again.

                Middle Earth was perfect.

I agree. The Witcher 3 combat was too repetitive to me compared to a game like this which had all kinds of abilities as you upgraded. If you play a game a long time you need to offer different abilities for combat to change things up and keep it fresh imo. Mordor is clearly more action oriented but so much fun.

I feel exactly the opposite, which is what I find so interesting in what people look for in games. I enjoy Shadows a lot and I think it is a lot of fun. But I found its combat was way too repetitive and I thought The Witchers was much more fluid and entertaining for the longer game. Between potions, oils and decoctions (sp) I never felt bored or repetitive. Especially in multi enemy fights, The Witcher feels much more challenging than Shadows does.

Not bashing Shadows it is a great game and I am enjoying it very much, just thought I would share a different opinion.

I need to get back on this game, Ill probably start over from the beginning when I do. But I have to say the sword fighting is the best in a video game.

                          Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

EVERY game is repetitive in one way, shape or form. Combat in Mordor was solid but The Witcher III combat was way better in my opinion. The only negative to the combat in The Witcher III was being "locked into a stance" when fights occur. The combat itself though was great. Nothing better than cutting off a bandit's head and then watching it roll down a hill due to the strong blowing wind. LOL.

Back to Mordor, it was a good solid game and better at the time due to 2014 being a down year compared to 2015. And a sequel is rumored to be in development at Monolith.

Witcher 3 was just strike and Dodge, strike and Dodge. Mix in a occasional magic sign. As you level up it was the same stuff. I quit after 15 hours. With Mordor you earn new skills and new moves that keep the game fresh. Plus you have real counters that work in Mordor. Those don't work when attacked by animals in Witcher or multiple enemies. I know I'm in the minority about W3 but that game disappointed me after all the hype.

Got this for $15 a few months ago and finally finished it over the Christmas Break.
Loved it. It took me forever to finish because I was doing tonnes of side missions.
Anytime I'd be on my way to a story mission, I'd get distracted by some Ork giving me the stink eye. I can't abide that.

I love how the game continues after the main story has been completed. I'm currently roaming the countryside kicking a$$ and not-taking names.

I'm a huge fan of the fighting engine in this game. It's why I love the Batman games and adored Mad Max.

I wish someone would make an RPG with the same mechanics.

Unfortunately I found both of those games far less interesting because their combat wasn't as good. Skyrim is really clunky for a warrior and while the Witcher 3 is better the combat wasn't nearly as fun imo. I gave them a shot but gave up on both of them. RPGs can be tough to get into since there is a bigger learning curve and a lot of tedious elements to them. All depends on what you want out of a game as a game like Skyrim is huge with a ton of exploration but combat is not a strength.

Just bought this game again myself and finished it. Need to do the DLC though. Lots of fun.
