Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Good game but I am going to trade it in as I just don't love LOTR though.
I do hope, however, that with this (and obviously the Arkham franchise) that more developers use this type of gameplay on all sorts of properties.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I didn't get very far story-wise, but I spent hours just doing side-quests and hunting Orc Captains. This is the first game in a while I can't put down, absolute blast.
One of the Orc Captains (Can't remember the name) has killed me three times. He ambushed me every time, waiting until I was near death and trying to flee or near death and finishing up the last Orc. I hate that guy.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Finally got around to taking out a war chief and pick one at random to start taking down his body guards. Finally get through tracking down and murdering his body guards and the little mission requirements to get him to spawn. Turns out he's immune to everything except ranged damage. I hadnt really upgraded my elf shot much so I didn't have enough arrows in the quiver to finish him off before he starts fleeing.
I ended up chasing him around for 20 minutes, picking up the occasional arrow he would run by but he kept regenerating and I couldn't finish him. Since he ran out of the mission zone, the whole map was empty, no other orcs would spawn so I couldn't drain anything to get a full supply of elf shot.
FINALLY he ran into some compound area that was guarded by a couple shield orcs. I was able to drain a couple real fast and then catch up to that mother ****er and put enough in his skull to bring him down.
Now I just have a few more to track down...Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I love picking up the little hidden collectibles. Found out by accident you have to go into wraith mode to find them.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Same, I haven't gotten a vendetta from someone on my friends list(Steam) yet. They're all random people playing on Steam.
Oh yeah, as a lore junkie I found it cool that they have a lot of little easter eggs and mentions of characters not noted in the Hobbit or LOTR trilogy. "Sound it out." "Fee Ah Nore, Feanor?"That, and the identity of the Wraith you're working with had me with a huge grin on my face. I love this game.Last edited by trobinson97; 10-02-2014, 06:44 PM.PS: You guys are great.

I've barely scratched the surface but love it, I've played like 4 hours and I'm 6% into the story, I just start doing something and get sidetracked tracking down captains, love it. I'll log some serious hours in this one.Favorite Teams:

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
So I finally kill Rugnok the Puny aka the Orc Captain that killed me three times, and I happen to stumble almost immediately onto another Orc Captain. Towards the end of the battle Puny shows back up. I ended up killing him again, but is he going to pop back up?Comment
