Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Ok, picked up the game a few days ago and gotta say, I'm having a pretty good time with it so far. Forgot that there were actual missions to accomplish and I'm finding myself just roaming around fighting packs of uruk (been doing this since I bought the game, no missions complete at ALL lmao!).
There's one enemy who I let get to level 16 and I can't figure out for the life of me how to beat him, so I just avoid him if I see the skull on the map. Also, after reading reviews that said the game was too easy, I made sure to turn off "block" prompts, not look at any intel (that might be more because I don't know how lmao), and just run into packs of creatures and fight it out!!
One thing I DONT like (and this goes for plenty of other good game engines I've come across) is that the devs damn near ALWAYS use a good game engine in the wrong context. For example, DragonBall raging blast game engine is a very good game engine and should've been a Macross game, this is a good engine, but should've been a standard "fellowship of the rings" game with gimli, aragorn, and the rest of the fellowship (all selectable mind you) fighting it out.
See where I'm going with that? Out of ALL the Lord of the Rings games that have come out (none which have been any good imo) we finally get a decent fighting engine and its some weird solo mission offshoot title. Come ON now!!Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Not a weird off shoot title at all. You haven't done any missions yet so that is why you think that. But once you make it to the middle of the game, you will have a better understanding of what this game is about far as time period goes. Really this game could have been it's own movie, for this story was never told in detail of what happened, how it happened and who were the people responsible for it. All the movies just hinted at it vaguely but that was it.Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I have been peppering a little of everything. I am only 20% complete. I am trying to unlock as many combos and sword/bow enhancements as I can. That way I can be effective when I start entering the latter part of the story.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
If the game is hard, slow down and level up some more. Don't charge into every fray. Use attract and stealth kills to weaken groups, shoot fires, release caragors from cages, knock down nests, etc. Some of the weapon legend missions are pretty hard if you're tackling them early on. I saved those till I had some crowd control skills and larger focus bar unlocked.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Haha I had to fight that guy also. Pain in the a**. I ended up fighting him on top of a roof. So adds would have to jump over to help him. I would stun him do a 5 hit combo, than any adds that where up there I would execute them(normally only 1 or 2 would be up there at a time). Worked out good but took forever to get his health down. Also I have the 2 execute talent, so could kill 2 of the adds quick.NFL 2k5 When Sept. Ends.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Man, this game is HARD to me. I keep having captains show up when I'm in a fight with 5 or 6 orcs. I also don't know what to do half the time.Comment

Also if you just started, don't get too carried away doing side missions and exploring, do a few main missions that teach you the game and give you new powers.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
I'm halfway through the main story now, just had what I guess was a boss fight against the Hammer.
I've been saving up the money in the game and purchased the sword ability that allows 20 seconds of unlimited executions. Holy smokes, that is pretty powerful.

Re: Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
Two things I just noticed:
1 - You can convert old weaker runes to Mirian.
2 - If the Captain that you just killed doesn't show up in the menu with a head on a spike. The chances are high that he's coming back for you.Comment
