Just keep going along the Atlas Path, won't be much longer until you get your pass.

My shield failed just as I got control of my character again - but made it and now have a 15-slot multi-tool, lol. That and the journey accomplishments (really, a popup would have been fine outside of significant milestones) are my biggest issues with this game.
You can exit out of dialogues without responding and go back to them. I agree that both are annoying, but if it happens again you can leave without reading or deciding yet.

I wasn't sure that was the case because I'd lost a multi-tool upgrade in a previous interaction to an accidental right-click.

I can't remember a game I played so much and enjoyed so much but at the same time couldn't really disagree with most of the gripes people have and criticism it receives. I can definitrly understand why someone would refund the game after 20 minutes playing. We said this pre-launch and we were right on. Some people are gonna play the game for 3 minutes, other people will play it for 3 years.

My experience last night pushed the game to an 8 for me. Basically, for me, the worst the game does for me is "this is pretty cool, it's a 7" and the best it does for me is "wow that's awesome, I love this, it's a 9" and my playtime is basically me going between those two frame of minds back and forth, so I guess just average my experience to an 8.

I cant really argue with a review that gives it a 6. 5 or below is a little harsh tho IMO.

Im really looking forward to seeing way they do with updates. I feel like the game could easily get pushed to a GOTY contender with just a couple tweaks/additions. I think the actual "game" mechanics can be fleshed out and expanded on quite a bit.

I do spend a lot of time wondering what it could be one day. Comparing it to past experiences (Tradewars 2002) and current games (Elite: Dangerous).

I'd really love a game like this with 20 or so star systems, with maybe as many players, gathering resources, constructing bases, outposts, and space stations.

Would make for a fun LAN experience w/ an accelerated timetable for things, galactic hide and seek, and then a matter of defending yourself and your assets when found.

I went ahead and looked it up on YouTube. Scan each system(in space) and locate an Alien Anomly. Head to it and you will get the blue print for your V1 Atlas pass.

I'm really enjoying how this game isn't really holding my hand at all.

I like the you go do what you want to do aspect of it a lot. I still have quite awhile before I think about leaving my first planet...I've just have had so much fun there! Tons of water, and it probably the best the game does resembles Earth. (Animals, and colors are obviously not the same...but water and the landscape)

I agree....there are a few controls I would have like to had explained a little better in the beginning, but I did enjoy learning on my own about most of the early game stuff. I mentioned the feeling of wanting it to be like Don't Starve at the start and I think I got that.

Random Outposts at the '?' marks is where I keep finding them. They are in red, wide boxes on the walls. Sometimes the synthetic lifeforms will offer you one when you 'guess right' (not knowing all the Korvax words, lol.

I have an 18 slot one that looks like a sick carbine/rifle from Mass Effect. Was upgraded to shoot these nice purple pin straight bolts that ricochet off rock and metal surfaces. Will take a pic or video later when I get home.

For those that want to know since I didn't know. You can get an atlas pass without following the atlas path. I've declined the atlas each time and I eventually made it to a Death Star looking thing and some scientist gave me one anyway when I said I wanted to do my own thing.

                                Re: No Man's Sky

I think this game is going to appeal more to older games like myself who played Atari 2600 games. I say that because those games were pretty Spartan graphics, no hand holding, no tutorials and required a lot of imagination to really fill in the blanks as to what was happening.

This game brings to mind one of my favorite games of that era, Adventure. I remember creating an entire story in my head as to what was going on. Of course the Atari also had games like Breakout and Kaboom! which were not requiring any imagination so I realize not all people from that era will like this game but just saying it is what it reminds me of.

If you're on the fence about whether or not you will like this game consider this: are you the type when you see a horror movie where you like it if the monster is rarely, if ever seen, and you imagine what it is? Or do you think the movie is ruined if you don't, at some point, see the monster?

If it's the former then this game is likely something you might like. If it's the latter then you probably will dislike this game.
