the atlas path just ends on the system I'm currently in. when I "search for discoveries" it just pulses systems discovered by other people and my home system doesn't pulse from what I can see. It's like it disappeared. I'm only on my 2nd system, so it shouldn't be too far from where I'm currently at.

Yeah, it is driving me nuts. Not a bird, found that. Planet has not water, just squishy mud sounding patches I can't dig through.
I may check the caves more, otherwise I am stumped. I will give myself an hour a well, after dinner, lol.

Frustrating to not be able to go back, so now I'm trying to get everything done in a system before I move on.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
If you press the up arrow key on the dpad (lower left hand corner) it's suppose to scan your discoveries. I think the red-line are the planets I've discovered. Just went 3 hours when I said just 30 minutes. LOL.....Incredible..Comment

when i use the controller and do that, it just pulses distance stars that other people have discovered.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Thinking about doing a book/journal of this is the other dynasty section haha.
I have so many ideas and am writing them down for a story that could be easily done with this game. Probably have 7 pages done on Microsoft Word already.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: No Man's Sky
For those missing a species, I witnessed today a little animal run into some pink grass on the desert planet I found. I tried to analyze him but he was moving and could only see a red dot, after a minute he/red dot disappeared... maybe I'll see another one?
Is 100% completion based on finding just all the animals on planet , and does each planet have different amounts of animals or is it ten always (been ten on my two planets).
I've played more warmed up a little to game and taken it what it is and is not. I'd still give a 7, just feel like as vast as it is which is a plus, overall all things considered it resembles something that would have been great on PS3.

It's not really all the animals, there can be sub species that you discover and you can still name those and upload, but they don't count towards the 100%. What I do is not try to just search, I fly from point of interest to point of interest and just scan around those in a circle looking for red dots or movement over a ridge to check out. Focusing in on the creature will drive you crazy.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
Found something worse than searching for that last species on a planet: waiting in the space station for an ideal ship to buy. It's either the 21mm beast or garbage that's not even an improvement. So I guess I am mining the piss out of this system to get 7mm more units and buying the beast, hopefully one of these planets is rich. If they are all duds I can always move on to the next system, but my goal tomorrow is mine like mad and buy a good ship.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
So I'm getting a lot of freezing (CE error) in my time with the game. Is that a common occurrence thus far?

Re: No Man's Sky
For me it is. I've also found that if you do get one, it's best to restart your PS4 or it will have a higher chance of happening again.
Ultimately, though, the game saves so often that it's not too bad of an annoyance, I don't lose much of anything really.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
I love this game, time just flies back. Finally warped out of my first system. I'm playing a much slower pace but really been exploring my planets, got 2 at 100% so far. My current planet is an Earth like planet but about 70% water. Has 14 animals and I've found 11. Also has my warp drive fuel blue prints on it, but where I landed, I was a 15 min flight from it, so been taking my time finding things. Found a giant spider..yeah...no.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
It's not always 10, it varies, and the money you get varies as well.

I was going to actually ask if I should/could be flying from waypoint to waypoint instead of walking everywehwere. 30 suit slots, 18 slot multitool later, and I never flew my fully fueled and repaired ship once, lol. I was afraid it would auto launch me to space the first time. I would just call it to waypoints as I moved on from other areas of the starting planet.
Can you land them anywhere on the planet? Does not have to be at a waypoint correct?
But on my original point, there were no errors. Played again the 3rd night, got the hard lock 1 hour in, then reset my PS4, it did the whole error check, etc.. It happened again about 2-3 hours later, but that time I let it sit and do it's own thing for the error message, then relaunched the game.
Usually doing a 'Rebuild Database' clears this up, so I did that and have not had it since, but again, it could all be sporadic and just placebo. But doing a rebuild every so often with how much this type of game fetches for files/maths would not hurt until they patch the issue.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
