I'm still gonna get the game ad play it but I'm confused. The main goal seem like you have to go to the center of the Galaxy. He states it over and over in the videos I see.

Here is the video I saw.

I thought the video in j3nkins29 post was telling...Heck I think all 3 from Gamespot was very informative.

To put this in simplistic terms, this is what I'm discovering in their message.

1- You and I buy the game and we pretty much start it off.

2- We decide if we want to be explorers, bounty hunters, traders, etc.etc.....

3- Lets say we both pick explorers and we travel with the spaceship we're given which is a tier 1 type.

4- You travel through the universe towards the east, I travel west. (we don't necessarily need to find the center of the galaxy)

5- You find a moon, its dark, it has strange invisible creatures, it lacks breathable atmosphere. You would then put in DATA in whatever they provide for us. This data is now visible to me. It will show me the coordinates, what you discovered. Other people may visit this moon and add more data and information.

6- In my adventures traveling west, I find a planet. I put in it's coordinates. It has beautiful lush meadows and springs. The planet is inhabited with model-like women. They've never seen a male before. I put in my findings in my data bank that you can now access.

7- You're on a quest to find this planet.

Say if you were a hunter, and your employer wants a T-Rex for their zoo. Either there's information for you in a data bank that was previously discovered that you will need to go to, or you would have to travel to find it.

They did mention that down the road there will be multi-player but its not known yet what this may have.

I know about the database stuff and that you could upgrade your gear. Did not know you could trade with other people to get stuff. I know you explore the game and choose what you want to be.

The only thing that confuse me is that the Developer makes is seem like it one big pool full of other players, which plays the game along side you, that you could interact with. Like they could attack you, accompany you to a planet, help you defend something, and more. One thing I heard him say is you could destroy all the lifeforms on a planet and leave it lifeless for other to see.

From that it made me think that you could stop people from doing this, but it does not seem like it if they are gonna put multiplayer in the game later.

My question is can you see and interact with other players or does the game only have online features?

You maybe able to see another ship, say Blzer's or mine but your not going to interact with us. Nor will we be able to follow you or us. Much of the mechanics will be "INGAME" that we will make decisions by ourselves. They've kept it secret for a purpose. They want us to be the story tellers.

Much of this assumption is what I'm taking from these 3 videos and how much they're telling us. This is an area that we gamers I don't believe have ever been at. They're saying a single planet, such as earth, that a million of us would by busy discovering, let alone a whole galaxy.

Give you another scenario. You're a pilot who needs to mine for certain materials that was discovered by another gamer on a moon somewhere in the galaxy. You search the NO Mans Sky database to find out where is this moon and what's its name. The reports tells about what the environment was like and its inhabitants. As you read this data, you discover that other pilots that have been there too have encountered an alien race that resulted in battle. This report may even suggest that some pilots were lost and presumed destroyed. You need this material so now you have options to make. Should I go there, slip in and out, by having all the necessary equipment all ready in place? Should I go find this resource somewhere else? Should I try to make contact with this alien race and see if I can make peace and trade peaceful? Were the alien race protecting this mineral for their purpose? Should I be equipped to destroy this alien race by having a superior battle cruiser and go into battle with them? The beauty is we don't know and we'll need to find out.

Maybe down the road in multiplayer, you can have a team go with you?

Like I said, if Hello Games does this right, it's unprecedented.

In that scenario he described regarding someone killing all life on a planet, does thts affect my game or just theirs? Maybe I skipped over a sentence or just am not grasping the MMO elements here.

I've wondered that too. What if somebody decides they want to just go around to every planet or moon they can and wipe out all sentient life they find. I don't think I'll like going to places where it tells me that some turd already visited and wiped out all life on the planet. Then again, if the galaxy in the game is as vast as it sounds, maybe it won't matter all that much? I guess it'll be something we'll have to find out.

I'm not sure I've ever been more intrigued, and fearful of being suckered, by a video game in my entire life. I hope Hello Games can deliver what they're saying because it could potentially end up being the best gaming experience one has ever had.

I feel the same way. I'm always paranoid about getting fooled by another "E3 Showcase" that ends up under delivering. This one almost sounds too good to be true. Really looking forward to seeing more about this one.

That's an excellent question and I don't know...However, I wouldn't be surprised if that turd becomes a target for those who want to be bounty hunters with a huge price on his/her head. And what happens if you die?

Oh, and another thing that was mentioned in one of those videos. They did say there maybe something of a negative dark force within this galaxy but wouldn't elaborate on it.

So in the start it not gonna have multiplayer aspect of flying around and doing stuff with people. But it gonna get it later on which I can understand.

But they said 2 things that caught me in the videos.

The first one I mention already about someone being able to destroy all life on a planet. If we can not stop them then a lot of planets are gonna get destroyed for everyone.

The second one is that he said that if you and your friend are going around attack people, then they will split you up.

It confuses me because he sometimes hints that there is. I know it not the main focus of the game.

A lot of people are gonna destroy life on planets when it comes out. Whether it was a good or bad will have to be seen. They could of been terrible planets they destroyed or planets with plentiful resources and and amazing things to find.

I'm intrigued with this game also and I don't want it to be bad. It has a lot od bold things in the game that people don't believe. I'm just worried that you can't do things that affect the game.

Can't happen since we're not multiplaying yet. Maybe the ingame mechanics will finish him off? The turd is flying and attacked by a squadron of ships and destroyed by the ingame's AI? Fascinating.!?!

See that's kind of what I thought could happen but I'm kind of confused on whether you can run into other players. I thought he said you could but can't do anything to them? They could do a lot of things with the what happens when you die thing. They could make you start all over, buy some type of machine that remakes you, but you either lose your ship, it spawns with you or have to find it since it is a sci-fi game, and other possibilities.

Having players as bounty hunter go after someone and race to get that person sound fun. The more stuff you do the more people like you or hate you. The more and stuff you do the higher your bounty. All that would be nice to have when the game release but they said they are releasing multiplayer later as you said.

As you said again they are probably gonna have AI bounty hunters go after you instead. I wonder if they would make them killable, because not being able to kill them and it being your death everytime you do something bad whether it was on purpose or not is kind of annoying. It would be cool to see higher or more bounty hunters track you down the more stuff you do.
