The 3-5 mins I watched earlier was someone else's video because I had seen it before. Unless everyone's planets are exactly the same. Also had the ps4 bar to the right but showed zero viewers or comments. Yet 1264 people watching and 93739373883 trolling comments.

I understood why that guy got to the center so early. IF he really got. HG probably gave people this possibility.

The way this streamer is just hopping from planet to planet with even firing his multitool, yeah I can see how people could speedrun to the center if they wanted to. Definitely obvious there are vastly different ways to play this game as I am gonna be poking and prodding everything, even peaceful lifeforms to see if I can elicit responses and whatnot.

I have been watching way too much of this stream. Keep telling myself to turn it off. Cant look way, lol

Can't watch the stream at the moment.

In general, how does it look though? Reading impressions on reddit and it seems to put some worries to rest. A few people mentioned that he found a couple of barren planets.

This was posted on NeoGAF about the upgrades, etc..

So I think I understand a few things from that stream.

1. Weapons/tools at least have their own base stats, visible as little circles with icons, with borders that fill. My gut tells me those are base stats.

2. The layout of weapons and gear are VERY important, not just the amount of space because...

3. Upgrades need to be next to their core technology. When upgrades are inserted away from the core tech, their border is grey. When put in next to core tech, their border is highlighted red alongside the core tech. You can't move your core tech, so you find new ships/guns/outfits to give you better layouts so that you can surround your tech with your ideal upgrades.

4. This doesn't seem to be noticed by either of the streamers, which explains their confusion on upgrades not working.

Yeah but even at this pace, with the number of planets, it should take some players years to reach the center, depending on where they started. Unless everyone starts roughly the same distance away.
