Yea, thought they said it would be like 98% barren or whatever.

Didn't he say like 1 in 10 or something like that?

Or was that ratio in reference to something else?

      I forget.

I think this would kill the game if 1 in 50 planets you visit had nothing interesting. What fun is exploring a barren planet? I don't know why people would want this. Realism in this case would not be fun.

          Storm response likely incoming.

Pretty sure I understand the argument to your point, and agree with it.

          Second Edit:

He says you can get to the center of the universe in about 25-30 hours using an exploit in the game that he figured out.

No biggie I guess if people choose not to go that route and play at their place and not use exploits.

But he I mean the guy that bought FWs copy and had leaked gameplay. The thread is on reddit about the center thing.

He reached the center. And refuses to say what it is. Which is why I feel Hello Games got lucky to have such a stand up guy end up purchasing the game and play it before release.

              From him:

Leaking it is actually claiming the 15 min of fame. Websites would run with it, it'd be all over the place - "Guy reaches center, here's what it is!" They don't have much of a story without the spoiler do they? Let someone else claim it and ruin it, it won't be me.

What's the point of doing that? Isn't the point of the fane to explore multiple planets, build etc? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

                  Re: No Man's Sky

He said it's not an exploit, it's a design decision. The game makes it obvious where these things are, there's one in every system, and they sell for waaaaay more than anything else. Honestly it almost sounds like something they out in to test the game and just accidentally left it in.

The life on every planet thing really bothers me. I know the game wasn't realistic from the beginning, systems would have at least 5 planets and as many as 12, so that alone isn't real. I figured at least one planet would have life in every system, but every planet having life is too much. I was hoping to see a bunch of wild barren harsh places. It takes some of the excitement of finding life if it's literally everywhere.

I don't know, it's feeling less like "crazy procedurally generated space where anything can happen exploration" and more "by the books got to planet hit all the check marks and repeat". For the first time my hope for this game wanes.

Some disappointing news here. Not sure how I feel.

I feel like my expectations have went way down.

Just reading more on reddit, and damn. Some hugely disappointing things. I guess the hype got me. The guy already finished the game. I guess there are exploits and bugs galore. Man

The life in every planet sucks. But I'm still excited to explore the planets. He did say they are amazing and different.

He also said he doesn't regret buying the game and that he likes it. I'm just disappointed in some of the other stuff.

LOL...........So many glum faces in here, stop doing this to yourselves!!!!!!!!!!

We have multiple galaxies, over 18 quintillion planets!

I do have a couple of questions for those who have ventured into the early reveals.

Has there been any word that these discoveries have been uploaded to Hello Games database?

Any word on the soundtrack? Here's one that's floating out there.

                          Spoiler

You're right Picci. I just saw where the guy who has it posted that even though he reached the center he can't wait to keep exploring. Said it's not a bad game at all.

It was never going to be exactly what they said it would be. The video game hype cycle is a dangerous one to get caught up in. I'm still very much looking forward to the game, but I've been tempered from the beginning.
