I tried that, unfortunately, it wasn't there. it did find other player's systems that were really far away.

Maybe I just got lucky? If so that's a bummer. I did have to cycle through several others before finally finding mine. It might just be random thoughts.

Tip for on planet trading outposts. I noticed this on my starting planet as well.

          Check out @StrideWideMan's Tweet: https://twitter.com/StrideWideMan/st...227897856?s=09

They will circle waiting for their turn to land. A great way to find a trading post with a single landing pad, as well as spot your next ship in the sky you want to buy, lol.

          Nice little touch.

I had landed at a trading post once and three ships kept circling the place for a good amount of time and I was wondering what was going on. I took off and flew in the air with them and then realized on landed and they were all waiting their turn.

just to jump in I saw one last night and it was a distress signal - I decided to jump in and defend the freighters but I got my arse kicked because of numbers of ships. I killed like 8 or so and there seemed to be another 8 or so. Didn't think it was so rare, but if you plan on jumping in you betterhave a bunch of zinc!

Nice, lol. My first two days with the game when it came out, I was wondering why I would see ships circling... then I noticed they were always above Trading Outposts... now I know it is them waiting their turn.

I have a question, do any of the changes you or other travelers make to a planet stay intact or are they always in a undisturbed state?

I see a lot of people using this fallacy to turn a "maybe it's in the game, we just didn't find yet" into a "Sean said it's in the game, so it's true, we just didn't find it yet."

Edit: Oh, i saw some of you are experiencing problems with the NVIDIA update. It's not an isolated problem, saw a lot of people reporting the same thing.

It's hard to say unless you have been to a planet that has already been discovered, and the person(s) there prior did enough disturbance to be noticed, and you somehow were in the same exact area of the planet. From what I've read, any disturbance done while on a planet, is permanent.

I was being more tongue in cheek, and wanted to use a Sagan quote in this thread, lol. I applied it because the link I shared earlier, is starting to check some things off the list of, "it is not in because we have not seen it" narrative.

Basically what he said. The events would have to be large in scale from what was described. Wiping species close to extinction, altering the terrain with very large holes or messages carved in. We do not know if it is implemented or not, since I do not think the original two that 'found each other' tested that.

So time will tell as more and more have a higher chance of crossing paths with already discovered places with the 'search for discoveries' option.

All the stuff you do yourself however, remains for you to see. If you leave a planet, then come back to it many days, weeks later, the alterations will remain.

I'm not entirely sure that is true about terrain transformations saving, but it's hard to know since it's so hard to find the same spot on a planet later on. Not sure that's a big deal, since like I said it's near impossible to find the same spot on a planet.

I went back to a spot last night where I dug deep holes and found caverns the first day with the game (back tracking looking for the 'Stargate' monument), and they were still there. The silly ones I made (bulls eyes) as well.

On my starter planet I found what appears to be your typical outpost. To go inside I had to destroy the iron door. So, I started to 'melee' the door and the Sentinals were alerted. I ran away and jumped into my sihp and flew away. Anyone else discover locked iron doors like this. Maybe I should go back and check it out - if I can find it again.
