I've been looking for the Last species on this planet for like 3 hours....I'm almost convinced it doesn't exist

It might be an aerial species - and unfortunately, the only way I've been able to scan those is to shoot one down.

I think this game is a super cool first step into a hopefully super bright future for games
What is the engine exactly in No Man's Sky- is it that formula people spoke of that is behind creating all the planets that supposedly exist?

It may be for another thread but I wonder if it's a positive for video games of an infinite world because in the average 20-40 hours people may pour into a game they like, they'll never see more than 1% or less of the "universe" if it's similar infinite creation.

With No Man's Sky do all of those planets really exist when all players combined will never come close to seeing them if they really are out there? So is it really cool if it's true the planets exist or a big waste because it'll never be realized ?

Searching for this last critter is killing me. Might be time to cut my losses and move on. 225k is nice but whatever. My only idea is that maybe there's a small patch of water somewhere that it spawned in.

Every large ship I've seen I thought was a big cruiser ready to swat me like a fly ... until one radioed for help because 3 small pirate fighters were attacking it. They were just freighters.

I haven't seen anything like some of the videos/screenshots, yet.

I was able to scan them from a good vantage point when zoomed in while they were flying.

But easiest is to shoot them down, don't lose sight to where it lands though, lol.

                    No Man's Sky

Something cool happened to me yesterday. I was finally flying to another planet and kept running into asteroids because I sucked at flying (still do). But one of the asteroids was big enough to where I didn't destroy it and it sent me into an extremely disorienting spiral, kind of like that one part in Interstellar. Took me a bit to get my bearings back

I've found its easier to hit them with the mining laser instead of the blaster. Just gotta be up on a valley wall or something to get close enough.

                          No Man's Sky

So far I've been to 47 planets and this is the first time I've stumbled upon gold like this. Definitely my favorite planet thus far. This planet is going to make me filthy rich. I named the System "AU0079" and the planet Chrysos, which is Greek for Gold.

There are hundreds of these around

yeah, the gold deposit are the main reason i still haven't left my starting system. I'm making a lot from the gold, though spending it all on exosuit slot upgrades. up to 36 slots now. need to stop and save for a bigger ship.

It's my own fault I should have watched videos before. This has got to be the most boring and as aimless of a game that I can imagine so far. Which is not good since its start of game, 2.5 hours in and feel like a complete waste of time and accomplished nothing saw nothing and feel like there's nothing else to be had no matter what planet of the Quint I'll ion I may ever get too next.

So far it's what I've feared for me personally. Walk around a vast planet, get lost, and mine iron gold and plutonium for reasons unknown so far. That wouldn't be an issue if I didn't have the game crash or if I felt like it was a basic good game.

Real question : Why do I need a jet pack if I can walk straight up a 50 ft cliff?

I just feel bamboozled, let down, and should have watched or read reviews. I might have dropped $20-30 on it and not been as dissapointed but 60 for this is a rip.

There's a thread on gamefaqs where people are talking about asking for refunds, and some people actually got a refund on PSN.

I haven't gotten a chance to play this game, but I love how a system with a lot of gold values it less than other systems. It shows that there is at least some reason behind the galactic trade prices. Awesome.
