    Re: No Man's Sky

I will say, this game offers some pretty sights!

And when I asked a couple days ago about how many waypoints you guys had found on a single planet, my record high is 154.

Well, I spent enough time grinding before 1.5 mining and selling tons of gold/emeril/rebeum/virideum/cyamatygen that I had 250,000,000 units by the time 1.5 released so ...

Anyways, there are apparently "uncharted" systems now that have no trace of intelligent life other than sentinels. No space stations, no outposts, no ruins. Don't know how common they are, but I've encountered 2 consecutive such systems, both around M-class stars.

I’ve learned that if you have an economy scanner and no economy comes up on the galaxy map for a system then there will be no space station in that system.

I’ve played a crazy amount of hours and I’m just about at 30 mill. I’m stockpiling some supplies for when I get a couple certain blueprints then hopefully I can make a killing. I really hope they don’t go crazy with the nerfs. The game is enough of a grind as it is. I saw they decreased egg spawns too. Would hate to decide to put this down because it heads in the wrong direction.

And I just realized they nerfed the plants grow time too. What an awful update. I went from being able to farm my plants 3-4 times a session and making a couple mill to my cactus plants taking 12 in game hours to grow. So essentially I can now harvest them every 4 play sessions or so. I didn’t realize this game was in a beta state when I bought it. I thought it had been out for years and they had their **** together at this point.

I spent a whole play session one day building a farm and figuring out what plants to grow and now it’s all essentially useless. I won’t even bother wasting time harvesting my plants now. Not even worth the trouble.

Yep, they're apparently trying to turn this into a massive grind. Nerfed the whispering eggs, nerfed farm times, nerfed how much some things sell for (and never bothered listing or mentioning those price nerfs), even got rid of nanite clusters from buried technology modules, so you can't rack up nanite clusters by digging up a bunch of buried technology.

They have ships that are going for over 100 million units, but they make it nearly impossible to actually earn 100 million units as they keep nerfing everything that you can get money from.

Hell, at this point, I'm waiting for them to suddenly introduce micro-transactions into the game. Keep cutting back and nerfing the ways you can earn money, then release a sudden update allowing you to buy packs of units or nanite clusters for real money.

One way for them to get back money from all the refunds *shrug*

Honestly every other game has gotten my interest this weekend instead of this one. From everyone showcasing their complaints with it I have just had zero desire to sink time and effort into the game if there is a chance that it could be lost and that they are nerfing everything in the process.

I'm still enjoying myself and actually look forward to the next time I can get back on NMS.

But they're making earning money such a slog, which is a pain in the *** seeing as it's essentially a single player game at its core and whether or not someone racks up 1 billion units has no effect on my game. So let people rack up 1 billion units if they want to.

Now I will say, having seen others bit, if something happens with a bug or glitch or something and my save gets corrupted, seeing as I've over 60 hours into my current post-NEXT save, at that point, I'd likely just walk away from the game. I definitely have no desire to redo everything I've already done, including gaining a B class hauler, B class fighter and A class fighter for less than 20 million units combined, and have to start the unit earning slog all over again after all the good money earning ways have already been nerfed.

They are simply nerfing anything that makes progress quicker. Enhancing the grind so it keeps players around longer. It’s honestly *** backwards because I’m sure it’s doing the exact opposite in a lot of cases.

Looks like the melee jump boost is still there, they just messed with the timing. Leaving a little bit longer in between melee and jump gets the nice speed boost again.

I know they reduced the spawns. They actually put that change in the notes.

                              I believe I sold 1 for 60k last night? I forget actually.

Started over so I could have a separate save from the one my buddy and I are in. Also giving a go on Survival. So far it just seems like you need more resources on your person at all times.

They reduced both the number and price. Before nerfing them, I could get 50-55 larval cores from a single abandoned building. Now I'm lucky if I get 25. And instead of selling for 95,000 units each, they sell for somewhere around 60 or 65,000 units.

It's actually reached the point where I just sort of stop bothering with whispering eggs now. I've discovered probably a dozen abandoned buildings in the past day or two and I've just flown right past them. Too much work for maybe 1.6 million units.
