Just seeing and reading about some of the weapons and armors that you guys all have lets me know I haven't gotten far in the game at all or found anything cool.

Let it be known that Dogmeat is getting dangerously close to being a victim of virtual animal cruelty. LOL

I am soooooo tired of that damn dog blocking doorways continously and randomly wandering off when I need him the most (he carries some of my emergency go to weapons when the @%#& really hits the fan, i.e rocket launcher, Fat Man,etc.....)

Last night he got me killed more than a few times because he was blocking the door I was retreating in to while fighting a Legendary DeathClaw and several ghouls at the same time. I really hope they patch the AI in that regard, because NPC'S also like blocking doors in settlement buildings that I need to access. Yesterday I had to remove a damn wall so I could get inside, hahaha!

The dog got dumped by me very early on. Other than occasionally holding an enemy, I found him to be annoying. Also, the other companions add quests after you travel with them for a while.

All of the companions get in the way during combat and trying to move around.

The ONLY reason I have kept him is because he's the only companion that you can utilize as a pack mule while having the Lone Wanderer perk, or so I hear. If there are others that works with I will change in a heartbeat, lol!

Only use of companions is pulling aggro and giving you their companion perk.

Dats it. They're not even worth the pack mule capabilities.

                Edit: aggro

I take Nicky V with me most places to avoid doing the awful hacking mini game.

Also, his 50s detective voice is the best.

They are definitely worth it for pack mule for me. And nick for hacking like someone just said. Dogmeat is great with certain perks too. I had to ditch nick last night though. Was at a point in the story where he started hating everything I was doing.

I don't even have cait yet and I'm at 5 days play time. Should probably go get her.

Its tied to you total charisma (number of settlers) Base max without any is 10...each charisma point you get 1 more added to that. So I have 8 charisma...my base total is 18. Doesnt matter if you have tons of food or anything else the number of peeps is capped according to your charisma

He's talking about water and mutfruit that is generated in your workshop by having those things I think.

When you have water pumps (even the smaller 3-water units) Purified Water is provided for you in the workshop. Same with the plants you grow.

I'm not sure how this mechanic works either. I'm wondering if it has to do with supplying food/water to settlements that don't grow it themselves?

I'm with you, need that pack mule because I'm a major hoarder, lol!!

I carry a ton of weapons right now and also collect a lot of the items I find. I'm getting close though to paring down the weapons I have on me because I have found a few that I'm just not feeling. More times than not while using these weapons getting a kill is hard and I end up switching to something more reliable to finish them off. The pack mule carries the heavier stuff for me. If I could put a working leash on Dogmeat I would, just to keep him nearby during battle, lol

On a side note, finally got my 5.56mm Auto Rifle leveled up nicely yesterday, it's a killing macine even at distance. Just wish the ammo was more plentiful

If you have settlements connected I'm pretty sure the ones with not enough food\water take up extra supply from other places. That's why I'm able to not plant at some places and their food\water still doesn't show up in the red.

I really wish this was clearer, because I have no idea of how it works. I know that Sanctuary, the Castle, and Nordhagen Beach should be producing a ton of purified water, but I'm not seeing it. I do have pretty much all of my settlements connected in some way.
