How should I best store weapons at my settlement (like Sanctuary)?

Right now I've just been transferring stuff to the Workshop, but if it's something I don't want stolen do I have to do something else? I haven't completed the building missions yet and haven't really gotten into it much. Don't want raiders stealing any cool weapons with mods I was saving to steal stuff from, or my Fat Man type weapons I don't use regularly.

I think the workshop may be your safest bet. But, I currently have all my stuff in green ammo chests broken down in to Melee weapons, legendary weapons, explosives, cooked fods, etc......separate chests for each. I find it much easier to sort through what I'm looking for; however, the NPC'S on a few occasions have helped themselves to my stockpile. I went to trade with one and the sucker had one of my legendary shotguns in his trade window, hahaha! As I originally said, pretty sure the workshop itself will keep them out, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Anybody know?

I'd like to know as well....I'd like to do separate chests for that type of thing, like you mention, but don't want to lose my amazing guns (Nukes, syringe gun, etc)

Hadn't noticed anyone getting into my stuff, all my companions are with my stockpiles. I guess I need to go have a look.

Yeah as far as I know, if something is removed from a container it is usually a companion or a settler of that given settlement. I don't think raiders can steal that kind of stuff within an established settlement, but again, I could be wrong about that statement, not really sure. And to be honest I only noticed it happen once, and trust me I go around routinely checking their trade windows to make sure they are behaving, lol

As mentioned in here numerous times, if you leave a set of power armor standing around with the fusion core still in it, they will use that too, lol! I was watching a Twitch streamer the other night and he fast traveled back to defend a settlement that was under attack, he saw three of the people wearing his power armors, lmao

Weight/resale value on weapons/armor is terrible. I just dropped them unless they were really great. It's all about the bullet and drug trade.

Pre-war money is good too, just watch because it is labeled as junk.

Good rule of thumb I heard a while back, circa Skyrim: dont hold on to stuff to sell unless its worth at least 10x its weight.
