At least Dragon Age Devs get it....

 Re: Assasins Creed Unity

Hmmm, as much as I enjoyed Mordor, the camera was at times horrible, the controls were loose and the button configuration was bad. If anything, they should have copied the button configuration from Assassin's Creed IV especially when it comes to "free running". Holding down the X button (PS4) and having to manually rotate the camera via the right analog stick which in turn takes your thumb off the pressed down X button to where you stop running and now, are walking isn't better, it's worse.Originally posted by ValdarezWill say that after playing Shadow of Mordor I'm not looking forward to Assasins Creed Unity as much. The gameplay in AC hasn't been upgraded enough. It's stagnant, out dated, and doesn't fair well against new games like Shadow of Mordor that have done it better now. Speaks so poorly for the AC franchise.

Also, climbing up or down using the left analog stick (ala Assassin's Creed IV) only to have to press the X button on that final leap "up" or "down" is once again, not better but in fact, it's worse. Also, they added a "last known position" in Mordor which I just remembered and didn't mention in my review in the Mordor topic. Talk about copying but yet, everyone thinks that it's somehow new or original. It's not.

Mordor is an excellent game but would have been better if the camera setup was better, controls were tighter and the button configuration copied Assassin's Creed IV. Hell, Monolith copied so much from Assassin's Creed so why not go the extra mile? Especially when if anything, the button configuration is the one main thing that should have been copied.

In general, I think that Unity will be a damn good game and im looking forward to it more than I did Mordor. While I think that yes, Ubisoft should max out each console's respective version as best they can, it's a shame that the majority of gamers nowadays are nothing more than graphics whores.

Gamers care more about 1080p/60fps than the actual game play, story, characters, controls and if the game is actually good and fun to play.

Despite my negatives about Mordor, the game was fun to play and I enjoyed it for almost 55 hours but when gamers think that Mordor has new game play controls or camera or a better configuration, im honestly baffled, dazed and confused. The nemesis system is great but subtract that and what do you have? A 7/10 Assassin's Creed clone without the eavesdropping.

What's funny is that unlike most, I wouldn't be surprised to see Unity get increased to 1080p before it goes "gold" as I think what they announced Monday was nothing more than to get everyone talking about the game as it wasn't that hyped compared to Watch Dogs and other games like Destiny.

Just like the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity. Especially bad publicity because good or bad, it gets everyone talking about the game and that's the number one goal in regards to publicity.

In the end, I'll be enjoying Unity whether it's 1080p, 900p, 720p or hell, 480p. Doesn't matter to me as all I care about is the game actually being good and no amount of visuals or frames can accomplish that for any game if everything else in it sucks.Comment

The biggest thing for me is the game actually being good but I want these games to maximize the power of the systems which is 1080p and 60fps.

Wait until the 2nd generation or third. I remember when EA struggled with framerate on NCAA Football and getting Bama 's numbers on their helmets. They haven't fully figured them out yet.Comment

 Re: Assasins Creed Unity

Rofl. I hope we finally get past this petty "it's only " fps!" Omg, the end is near, the end is near nonsense.

Personally I don't like assassins creed to much any more however if Far Cry 4 and Division was listed at 30 fps and 900p I would still get it because from what I have seen of both they look like fun and huge games and that imo should be the number 1 priority.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

 Re: Assasins Creed Unity

I'm not buying the game mainly as I am not a fan of AC much.
So doesn't bother me at all with this game...
 However...
I do think though that anyone who bought a NG system should expect games to be made with the full capabilities of the system especially when they can and the dev chooses not to, so there's no "debate"
If in fact that's what happened here.
They are valid complaints if so.Last edited by Skyboxer; 10-15-2014, 08:48 AM.Joshua:

 Re: Assasins Creed Unity

See I agree with 23 on this Candy and I don't think it is anything to do with "the sky is falling". For me it is far far from the end of the world, I just substitute AC Unity with Shadow of Mordor for my open world fix.Rofl. I hope we finally get past this petty "it's only " fps!" The issue lies in the fact we spent $400 to $500 for a more powerful system. Why would anyone be ok with developers designing a game below the system capabilities ON PURPOSE. That is the exact equivalent of building a badass expensive gaming PC and only playing NES ROMs on it. You just wasted your money in that situation. Instead we have developers openly admitting to lowering the game so no debates between the X1 and PS4 can be discussed.

Why are we as customers getting short changed on a "politically correctness" type of deal? I will only support developers who want to give its gamers the best possible experience.Comment

 Re: Assasins Creed Unity

Perfectly said. Not sure where anyone is getting that consumers are upset just because of games not hitting 60 FPS. It's more the principal of it. Developers aren't pushing the envelope with these clearly capable systems, and it's becoming clear that they don't care in some cases.See I agree with 23 on this Candy and I don't think it is anything to do with "the sky is falling". As long as they make their money, they won't care, even if all the PR and backtracking says otherwise.Comment
