    Probably explains why I haven't really seen any issues yet with framerate...

      Did you just get the game today? I have not played today but before the update the game ran smooth like 90% of the time but would some time slow down when going threw grass and one location it would slow down really bad. So even before the patch the game didn't have a big frame rate issue. So really impressive that Nintendo fixed something that over all was small. Another games have far more frame rate issues and don't do any thing about it.

        I was going to say. That framerate stuff was way overblown imo. I'm yet to have an issue.

            In allhonestly watch dogs 2 is the best open world game in the vein of GTA since gta5 and in some ways eclipses it.

              I'll have to go back now after the patch, but I had some of the worst slowdown in the game around the volcano. I was fighting some enemies and after every hit the game would just stop for about 1-3 seconds and then pick back up. Only time that has happened.

                That is the one area of the game I have yet to get to don't have fire armor yet having a hard time finding it but the area where the master sword is before the patch was the worst I had seen like 15 FPS and after the patch I went there and it was still below 30 but I think more like 20-22. I have not had a chance to play with the patch yet though.

                  In regards to the patch.

                  I feel I cans peak on this as ive now played well over 140 hrs and have opened the entire map.

                  The framerates have improved a lot but the framerates never bothered me because the game is just that good. Does that mean that I didn't notice them before? No...not at all BUT some areas now which slowed down do not any longer

                    I finally checked my playtime for Zelda and I'm disappointed that it is only been 65 hours. I thought it had been more LOL. I've done 3 Divine Beast and about 60 shrines.

                        Notes from NXGamer regarding patch improvements

                        - No resolution changes between the post- and pre-patch versions;
                        - No LOD changes between the two versions;
                        - Handheld mode completely locked after patch, improvement from pre-patch;
                        - Docked mode improved over pre-patch, significantly so in some areas

                        The only time I ever really noticed slowdown was in docked mode before. I did feel the drops to 20fps that DigitalFoundry documented in certain areas, in docked mode. Portable has always felt pretty damn smooth to me so either way its cool that the patch smoothed out whatever was going on in either mode.

                          Hope Nintendo can fully optimize the game to be a locked 30fps docked by the time I play the game.

                              I personally loathe digital foundry I blame them for all the framerate hoopla and fidelity angst around in gaming

                                Are you serious? I don't love DF but I definitely appreciate them and what they do because they tell you what the developers and publishers DON'T. *coughNintendocough*

                                I want to know the technical aspects of games that I want to play. Take a Homefront: The Revolution for example, it ran horribly and played horribly. DF tells you this. Batman remaster is a good example. One game in the bundle was optimized fully for PS4 Pro but the other wasn't. A later patch REMOVED the Pro version being fully optimized making it the same as the base PS4. Examples like these are why as a gamer, im happy that there's a Digital Foundry because it gives me the details and info that I want to know.

                                Downfall of gaming? Dude, gaming is BIGGER now than ever before and unlike Nintendo, majority of gamers aren't stuck in the past. Gamers now want all the advanced technical stuff simply because that's how everything progresses and advances in life and at a fast pace. You either keep up or get left behind.

                                If anything, critics and gamers overrating games despite having a lot of problems yet underrating games that have the same problems is gaming's number one problem in my opinion simply because it's not fair and impartial.

                                You can fully enjoy your Zelda game but there's a lot of gamers that want all the current up to date technical stuff and that's where DF comes into play. I'm not a PC gamer whatsoever but I fully understand those who are and want 60+fps and all the visual stuff.

                                As for FPS, I hated the genre years ago and while it's still my least favorite genre out of the genres I play, I fully understand why millions and millions of gamers enjoy the genre. I like FPS but it depends on what the FPS is.

                                Overwatch? Which is an online competitive shooter, no way but Far Cry 5? Hell yeah!!!
