Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)

This game is killing my sleep situation! I started playing when I laid down to bed just a bit before 11pm last night. Finally put it away at about 1:15am when I had to get up at 6 to teach today. Ugh....

Spent a bunch of time clearing a path of enemies for a torch task only to have a blood moon reset everything. I wasn't going to be deterred so I had to start again!

It's amazing how easy it is to get lost in the world in a good way....just exploring and discovering. I'll get to saving the kingdom eventually. I'm just having too much fun adventuring!

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)

      I am blown away.

After receiving my Nintendo Switch yesterday afternoon (bought one of the GameStop bundles they had last week), I was able to get close to 3 hours in with this game, and it could've easily been more, but I had to make myself stop playing so I could get some sleep.

This is a love letter to all of us that play video games. The game looks amazing and the controls are on point.

I'm already itching to get out of the office (waiting for my screen protector and carrying case to arrive before I take this on the road with me) and play more of this game.

I was doing the torch task (the one in Hateno) and it started raining on me just steps away from the end! I had to find a campfire to advance time but luckily I lit those lanterns along the way.

Mine was similar at a different location, but fortunately I had also lit the lanterns. I was just pissed because a Guardian ended up respawning...

You know I have to say this...

It ONLY gets better my friend.

I am in awe. And you're hearing it from someone who has now put in well over 155 hrs INTO Breath of The Wild.

But I should tell you my play style.

All I do is explore and I'm still as entertained as when I started.

Also I DO NOT finish games. I get almost EVERY game imaginable (even got Persona 5 this week) and other than sports games nothing has gotten this much play time AS Zelda.

Its the best game I've ever played.

GOING TO BE VERY HARD to even come close to this games brilliance

I accidentally set my shiekah slate to identify pumpkins instead of shrines. How do i switch it back? Doesn't look possible.

Edit: Need to press Y on the map screen and select shrines.

This game is unforgiving, but I wouldn't classify it as unfair. You venture into areas of Hyrule you aren't prepared for and it's definitely not going to end well for you. I've had to discover some alternate routes for places I wanted/needed to go due to my current abilities, and it's very rewarding when you find a path and reach your destination.

Cooking has been surprisingly fun; made some dishes that will offer up a huge health upgrade.

I'm determined to get through this game without consulting a guide or YouTube. I'm sure my style of play isn't traditional for this type of game, but that doesn't concern me. I make it work and most importantly I am having fun.

Where do you view game stats? I don't see anything in the game menus, or in the settings on the Switch. Just curious to see what my numbers are.

You see your play time on your Switch profile menu, top left of Switch home menu. Go there and it will say how long you've played games you own.

Doing the same thing as far as no guide. I did order the collectors edition guide but it will be unopened along side my other collector edition guides.

I work until 5 am then off until Sunday (Yep got to work Easter ) so I'll have a couple days of Zelda time in between golfing.
Love the game and it really is a fun time.
I also love the cooking aspects, even though I've made a few crapola dishes lol.

Managed to take down my first Divine Beast, and I've doubled my hearts over the last 2 days, so feeling good about the progress I'm making.

                          This game is amazing.

This game alone justifies my purchase of the Switch. The world is incredibly immersive and enormous, and the gameplay is spot on.

                              It is an absolute masterpiece.

Yep, without a doubt, this game will be game of the year. This is my first Zelda since the nes original. I'm LOVING it. Doing absolutely nothing. When I chopped Down 3 trees that fell beautifully across a gorge, creating a makeshift bridge, I was in awe. Haha. I'm only 8 hours in, and haven't did much of anything yet, but I don't really care. I'm having fun exploring and saying "I wonder if I can..." and then finding out "yep, I can". Awwwwwesome experience so far.
