Am I right to assume that the last? ruin skill comes later in the game?

When I left the first area I only had 4 of 5. I keep looking at the empty square wondering if I missed a shrine.

It's for the amiibo feature, I believe. If you haven't used one,
I believe the space stays black or empty.

There are 5 power runes, 1 equipment rune, and 1 amiibo rune. So there is one more you'll get right after leaving the first main area if you continue the main quests.

Well I thought I was going to go after the final boss this week but so far I keep getting sidetracked. I had forgotten about the Rubber and Barbarian armors, so I went after those this week and other nearby shrines as well. I still need to get the Barbarian leggings but I have the game saved at the shrine where those are now.

I like to upgrade each armor to at least 2 stars so that you get the extra bonus. I've done that for everything except the Barbarian and the Ancient. I need about 20 more Ancient gears to get the second star on the Ancient set, so I'll need to do a little guardian hunting. I found the Forbidden Temple recently that had like 8-10 guardians in it. I wiped them all out to help get the first upgrade, I am going to go back and see if they have regenerated yet or not.

To upgrade the Barbarian armor you need Lynel horns! I haven't fought any of them yet, I just sneak past them. But there is one real near the Barbarian leggings shrine, so I'll give it a shot tonight. A lot of the boss battles have gotten a little easier for me because I realized that cooking 5 might bananas triples your attack power! That helps a lot!

Now I'm considering getting all the shrines before the last boss. I'm at 88 now, so not too many left to get.

Are you using a guide to find the shrines? I think I've explored everywhere (obviously I haven't) and I've only found half of them.

Are you using a guide to find the shrines? I think I've explored everywhere (obviously I haven't) and I've only found half of them.

Yeah I have a map with all the shrines on it. So I mark the location on my in-game map to get near it and then the Shrine Sensor in the game leads me the rest of the way. The only problem are the shrines you have to do quests on to make appear.

Whaaa? I didnt know some appear after quests. This game is going to take a lot of hours away!

Haha, yeah... sometimes it is annoying too lol. Like earlier this week I trekked all the way across the Gerudo desert, getting smashed by a giant mini-boss, to get to a shrine that I couldn't enter until I went all the way back and did a quest. There are quite a few shrines that require quests to get them to appear, those are most of the ones I have left because I haven't come across them yet.

That's why I haven't and won't use a guide. Been great exploring and learning as I go. Loved every second. I have 41 shrines and only 8 seeds lol.

I haven't really gone out of my way to find them. If I see something odd, some weird formation in the woods, I figure it's a puzzle and if I can figure it out quickly, I solve it. Otherwise I assume it's demanding something I haven't figured was possible. So I move on.

Lately I've been finding the Korok seeds a lot. I guess just playing the game so much I know what to look for now. Like if I see something that looks like I should climb it, I climb it and there is a single rock on top that has one hiding under it. I think I require like 37 seeds to get my next weapon slot! From the looks of my menu screen it looks like I can probably only expand my weapon slot 2 more times.
