First off don't even go up against a guardian until you have a decent shield, something like two stamina wheels and at least the guardian armor.

That's about 40 hrs worth of gameplay to get to that point though. no quick way in Zelda(yeah screw you speedrunners)

Shield up and then counter the laserbeam as it shoots at you with (A).
What world do you live in?

Why two stamina wheels? I've been fine against guardians without a second wheel. Just need the right equipment.

I'm pretty good at reflecting their beam so a shield is all I need now. But you can spin longer with two handed weapons if your stamina is higher, so that might be it. Being able to do that really helps with the talus mini bosses.

Just having more stamina is awesome though, makes climbing so much easier especially with the climbing suit.

I just want to play the game to its fullest.

For me I don't see this as a 40 hr game so I try and level everything and its been very fun that way

I'm over 40 hours and have none of that stuff yet. I am on my 3rd Divine Beast though. Love how everyone plays this masterpiece differently.

Yeah I love having more stamina. Mainly for exploring. I'm almost at a second full wheel. I've been taking out guardians for a while though. Well before I even upgraded stamina once. All you really need is the ancient equipment and you are good to go.

I basically opened up game map by doing all towers then just explored and gathered items cooked them sold them got rupees went to any store I could find after a ton of sidequests that unlocked things and then went onto one divine beast.

Currently at 105 shrines I wanted to see if I could get all shrines before doing divine beats but you cant

There was a reason why I wanted to do all shrines first because of the prize it grants you but I guess they do force you to play the game they want eventually not totally open ended but way more open that any other game so

For the life of me I can't seem to figure out why this game is so damn fun?? It's so simple at least the initial part and now I'm headed to the next mission/quest "Seek out Impa" which is clear across the map but at the rate I'm going I'm never going to get there. I keep getting sidetracked doing little things and just wandering around scavenging and hoarding.

This game is just a damn good/fun game for all ages.

Once the map opens up after the first area, this game really feels like a Zelda game. There are somethings missing like discovering an area you can't get to until you find the hook but nothing has ever matched a Link to the Past imo.

This one does a great job of capturing a new wonder with Zelda. I'm impressed and growing more and more in love with the title. I've gotten to the point it's the only game I want to play right now.

Yep, I went and found Impa tonight as a matter of fact. Only 25 hours of gameplay later, lol. I got sidetracked. I've found and scaled all towers now. Some of the shrines are insane trying to find.

I'm having a blast. Hilariously, I've been playing the game 25 hours, and hadn't been to Impas village to learn that I can dodge and attack, flurry attack etc. That would've came in handy several times.

Yeah, the other games I was playing I've put on the shelf, because it's always on my mind when I'm ready to play a game. Captivating.

Well I thought I was going to go after the final boss this week but so far I keep getting sidetracked. I had forgotten about the Rubber and Barbarian armors, so I went after those this week and other nearby shrines as well. I still need to get the Barbarian leggings but I have the game saved at the shrine where those are now.

I like to upgrade each armor to at least 2 stars so that you get the extra bonus. I've done that for everything except the Barbarian and the Ancient. I need about 20 more Ancient gears to get the second star on the Ancient set, so I'll need to do a little guardian hunting. I found the Forbidden Temple recently that had like 8-10 guardians in it. I wiped them all out to help get the first upgrade, I am going to go back and see if they have regenerated yet or not.

To upgrade the Barbarian armor you need Lynel horns! I haven't fought any of them yet, I just sneak past them. But there is one real near the Barbarian leggings shrine, so I'll give it a shot tonight. A lot of the boss battles have gotten a little easier for me because I realized that cooking 5 might bananas triples your attack power! That helps a lot!

Now I'm considering getting all the shrines before the last boss. I'm at 88 now, so not too many left to get.

I'm feeling like I'm going to be playing this just like you. I find myself getting sidetracked all the time, but it's so natural to do so, and enjoyable at the same time. I played for probably 3 hours yesterday (as did my 8 yo son), and we're doing completely different adventures, and just love watching each other progress.

I've got my entire map unlocked, now I'm shrine hunting. I need to up my stamina gauge a bit (I've only been loading up on hearts) and I need to restock some weapons after my Three Brothers shine quest.

I'm less fearful of the big combat battles now, but I'm still nowhere ready to take on a Lynel....and barely ready to take on Guardians. I still only have 1 Divine Beast done, but I'm in no hurry at all....this adventure and world is just way too dang fun!

The main reason I went ahead and did the Divine Beasts were for the special powers they grant you. The Zora one and the Rito one really help in the game.

I'm not sure how my battle with the Lynels are going to go tonight, but we'll find out!
