I think this game and Horizon are my two favorite open worlds in the sense of just the joy of exploration

It hasn't helped gaming prob the second biggest downfall to gaming since the rise of first person shooters with no campaigns getting game of the year...

I agree. We didn't have this during 360/PS3 era. It's made for tons of fanboy wars over a few frames per second or one having more p's than the other. I've happily avoided their videos.

Horizon just isn't beautiful to me. Its technically good and that's evident from Kojima wanting to use their engine for his Death Stranding game(which he has ALOT of build up and hype around evenmoreso than No Mans Sky in my opinion. if I could I'd really hold him to making a amazing game and if he doesn't basically write him off as a flake YUP )

Breath of the Wild doesn't use its "lack of hardware" to make a beautiful game. They brought together a BRILLIANT artistically trained and talented team of ppl to make what I consider a work of Art.And this is just not opinion I don't see the same qualities in horizon that I do in BOTW . In BOTW I get the same sense of artistry and wonder when I go into a new York art museum. Horizon just does not provide that. Its choice of off putting color palletes (neon green night, orange day cycles etc) just show me that the artistry for the development team at guerilla just is NOT there. Even though fideility wise and structural its more of what we see in reg every day life the environment just does not evoke any reality or abstract.

Again I come from an art background studied and am a son to a abstract painter in the vein of jasper Johns etc. so BoTW just does it for me and is on the level of many of the artists work I respect in general

As good as Zelda is and how nice the environment looks, the game would look so much better if it got rid of that white filter effect it uses so much. There are times in the game when it is just beautiful and then times when that effect ruins it. I thought the cutscene after defeating the Zora beast looked terrible because of it.

in some cases its part of the weather effect in other cases its part of a "mystical" effect.

Removing it entirely isn't needed as all one has to do(which is what I did) I turned down the brightness of my tv. However one thing to note. framerate issues are due to the handling of "white" white color hinders movement and is also what you see during ghosting effects in some early sports games. I think Nintendo has not figured out that tech part at all. sadly ONLY thing wrong but not terrible in the slightest

I've been taking time and doing as many side missions etc.. as I can.
Plan to try and "100%" this game. Some games are a chore to do so but so far this one keeps it fresh and I feel it will be as fun to the end as it's been from the start.

Yeah but it sounds like it didn't do much for the wii u version and its framerate. So I am not really sure what the patch did for the wii u version. About the patch and making the switch version run much better then the wii u version I forgot to post this.
