    Re: Overwatch

    I agree.

    Overwatch is fun.

...but the more you play and learn how to win, the more toxic it can become both from your teammates and yourself. The hard-counter mechanic now can provoke toxicity, playing like a beast but playing with somebody who is playing Widow to troll can provoke it.

It is a fun game but also gets upsetting quickly. I feel that there are do few times I shut the game because I went out on a high note versus being frustrated.

I've had it since launch and I'm done. I'm going to sink my teeth in BFV which is much more casual and easy on my sanity!

      Re: Overwatch

Just have to comment on the statistical improbability of this, and yet it somehow happened.

So I only play Mystery Heroes in this game these days. The last 2 nights I've logged about 7 hours and 40-45 games. In every single game during that stretch, the enemy team had at least 2 torb/bastions during the match. Often times they would have stacked Torb/Bastion at the same time, and often times they had more than just 2 of them.

While Bastion isn't much of a problem in the normal game thanks to the ability to pick heroes that can shut him down. In mystery, any kind of static defense is extremely difficult to deal with. So, imagine the frustration when you are facing that every game. There was one game tonight where the team started with 1 Torb. We killed him, and the next person to die on their team got a torb. Killed him and the next guy to die got another torb. What are the odds?

Frustrating couple nights. The only good thing is I did have my best play as Widowmaker ever.

Not sure if you're asking me or if it's open ended, but I enjoyed Overwatch. I was playing it the day it released in 2016, and I have logged several hundred hours in the game.

The two areas where I'd say it stands out is that everything the game does feels very polished, and it's an easy game to hop into a few matches at night without feeling too committed (though still action packed enough that you want to play 6-7 games in a row).

My criticism of it is with all the things it does not do nearly 3 years into it's life.

Still playing and I don't know if that's fortunate or unfortunate. The main drawback in this game is just the matchmaking and people involved in the game. The consistent inconsistency of my experience is what really makes me have a love hate relationship.

I mostly solo queue so I know that I'll go on a six or seven game win streak followed by a 2-8 slide where there's 4 or 5 games with throwers, horrible stack, or *******s.

I love it but also hate it. Same with one of my friends who are last two standing and we only cross our fingers that anthem is good enough to take us away from this heroine...

            Re: Overwatch

            Great explanation, Zanner.

The highs of OW is exhilarating. The lows of OW are rage inducing.

...and this usually happens either the same night or back-to-back gaming sessions.

This was my most played game of 17, 18, and at this rate 19. Just a fun time and I’m by no means a high level player.

I did just have my best match every with a 48 Kill streak plus 25 k healing with Moria.

                      Re: Overwatch

No beta invite, but I am interested to see where things go with this.

I like that the teams are now just 5 players, and it seems like some tanks have been reworked so that shielding is less prevalent. Those 2 things combined will hopefully lead to more constant action and far less tank meta (which seemed to dominate the game for most of the 2+ years that I consistently played the original OW).

This really does just seem like a big patch to OW1 from everything else I've seen though. Hopefully the rework to teams and reducing the prevalence of tanks will help keep things fresh. It's going to come down to pricing and the co-op mode for me though. Blizzard overpromised and under delivered with OW1. Not to say it wasn't a good game that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a F2P game, marketed as a B2P with no micro transactions because all future content updates would be free, but then they only managed 11 characters and 9 maps after 6 years of development. I often wonder if I would have stuck with the game as long as I did if I didn't believe for such a long time that more content was coming.

                        Re: Overwatch

I'm so happy that I abandoned this game because it's almost criminal to see the state of this franchise.

Overwatch 1 was at its core a F2P game that was sold as a full price game. The marketing clearly stated that we would pay our $60 and never have to worry about buying anything but cosmetics.

Overwatch "2" comes out as a true F2P game, where both cosmetics AND characters now costs money. It also overwrites OW1 which is hard to see as anything but shady. OW2 was marketed as the game to eventually feature the highly requested co-op campaign and it made some tweaks to the team format of OW1 which did not need a full "new" game to implement. Otherwise, it's the identical game that I and may others paid paid full price for 7 years ago and no longer have the ability to play as it was marketed.

Now, OW players getting some more 'fun' monetization.

Very curious if Blizzard ends up getting hit with a lawsuit at some point for this. Games are allowed to shut down servers for previously purchased games, but this is very different from what you see in those instances.

OW2 is absolutely a pitiful money grab.
