What do you mean there is no sales tax when using a reward certificate?

I should have explained this better. Anyway, when you apply a reward certificate to an order, it subtracts the sales tax for the amount of the cert. So for example, if your state's sales tax is 10% and you use a $20 reward certificate, it will also take off $2 for a total of $22. If your order is $40 and you use a $20 cert, it will take off $22 which means you'll pay $18 plus the tax on the $18 which would be $1.80. So instead of $44, you would be paying $41.80.

Hope this doesn't sound confusing. LOL.

This is why I never use reward certificates on taxless items like PSN cards.

So it just makes the actual amount of the item cost less so you're paying less sales tax. Am I understanding that correctly?

Far Cry 5 has been added to the $10 pre-order reward certificate bonus program. Also expecting Assassin's Creed Origins to be added sometime after E3.

I wish you didn't have to pay for the whole game upfront when preordering there.

Unless something has changed, I don't think you do. You might have to do so when pre-ordering online, but not in person..

Yeah if you pre-order online you have to pay in full at time of pre-order.

But if you go in store you have option of putting $5 down or paying for the entire thing.

Had to stop being lazy (going all digital so I could easily switch between games) and start taking advantage of GCU again. Picked up all of the Bethesda titles save for DOOM (coming soon) and The Evil Within. That's a lot of cash had I gotten all of those digitally.

Actually online they just put a hold on your card for the amount and then it falls off in a few days if you pre ordered that far out.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.
