Sad to say absolutely nothing. I tweeted to both Best Buy and Amazon and neither gave any insight, just corporate talk.

        1) Yep.

        2) Just one difference. If I buy a disc based game for $30 and sell it for $10, it cost me $20 but if im paying $60 for a digital copy of the same game and sell it for only $10, it cost me $50 so no, $10 wouldn't cut it for me. Disc based games go on sale way more often and way cheaper than digital does now with competition so imagine without. Unlike with physical, in the long term, keeping the download is just the better decision.

Going digital the way I am is going to make me way more prudent in my game research before making a purchase because I know I can't get anything back via trade!

My local Best Buys have a couple of open box KS8000 65"s for $1349...ones Certified by the Geek Squad and the other just says new, may be missing manual...

I'm still a few weeks away from buying but I's like to hear you guys thoughts on buying an open box from Best Buy? If you'd recommend it should I look for Geek Squad certified or does it not matter?

I do not care about a missing manual to save $150

Re: The Official Best Buy Gamers Club Thread

Good news! Apparently the $25 Visa Checkout promotions maintain even if you return items.

I said I'd try this with three laptop chargers (total purchase was over $100, which kicked in the promotion). I found one that worked and returned the other two. The discount still remained for the one that I kept, even though with returns my total came to (significantly less than) $100.

So the next time this promotion pops up, don't feel too bothered to try and get over that $100 mark. Say you only want one $59.99 video game? Purchase that with some other crap, then return those later. Your game will come out to $36.99 + tax (assuming you're applying GCU, since we're in that thread and all haha).

I bought my H8C open box. I assume Geek Squad certified means they just plug it in and make sure it still works. My TV was also. I buy extended warranties for all my TVs so I'm not that worried about them having major defaults due to being open box. I would go to the store asap, or buy online now. Open box stuff goes pretty quick.

That's correct. They check it out, make sure the TV is in fact, still in working condition. Make sure there's no damage as far as all HDMI ports working, no pixels out, etc.

If you buy an open box TV, I'd recommend getting either the 2 or 5 year protection on it as well.

Just splurge on the 5 year from Best Buy, or look into a Squaretrade through Costco (anyone used to be able to buy them).

I think on Costco's site it's $89 for 3 years of coverage which starts after the manufacturers warranty.
