Finally after like 30 attpemts, I beat the Nameless king. The nameless king arsenal of moves is insane. Other than his 2 and 3 hit combo, he doesn't really use the same move alot. This and how easy it is for him to just fly out of sight messed me up alot. Was thinking about just forgetting him and moving to NG+, but decided to level up, which helped out a good bit. Got a Lothoric Knight shield and put on the Dark Sword. Can't wait to fight him in NG+.

I gotta say, defeating him was one of my favorite gaming moments from this generation of gaming. I probably jumped the crap out of my neighbors when he went down.
Fair warning though, I just reached him in NG+, and the extra health he has makes him even more difficult. I'm using the same weapon I used to beat him in the first playthrough (Gundyr's Halberd), and I may need to switch it up now.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
Level 76 and 55 hours in and getting closer to the end. Just clearing out some earlier areas when i fought fire demon but never went to the right and now i just cleared that
Last boss i beat was the dragon slayer which took me like 7 tries. Great fight and i got to the optional boss i think called consumed king but he beat me first time. I had 2 flasks so i knew i would lose but will go after him next and then I think 2 or 3 more bosses and done. Game started real easy till Pontiff sully and from there on it has become a great great game like the souls we knowComment

Re: Dark Souls III
Well done man. He was an insanely hard boss fight, albeit fair. You really have to be on your game to best him. I tried and failed probably 30 or so times as well, and the one time I beat him, everything kind of clicked. I was finally able to dodge his moves and play smart, only taking one swing at a time when I could. The funny thing is, that horizontal slash he does after a combo is the one that would usually catch me, and it's probably his easiest move to dodge. He's just so quick to take a swing after you get a hit in that I'd mess up the timing, and by the time he hit me with that slash, one more hit would usually be enough to basically do you in.

Getting that killing blow had me on the edge of my seat. I had no estus and he was getting ready to kill me, but I was able to sneak in and attack him. I would of screamed with joy, but it was 3 am in the morning.
I barely survived him on my first playthrough, and now he has extra health. I'm have nightmares just thinking of fighting him. Gotta practice my dodges before I even think of fighting him.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
In my opinion, that's one of the toughest fights in the game for when you face them. They're the toughest until Pontiff Sulyvahn, and the toughest of the lords, taking into account what level you'do be facing each of them, particularly if you are a mage.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
I just beat that dragon in the option area and have now lost 10 straight times to the Nameless King. What an incredibly awesome fight and hard as heck.
I took a break after dying so much. I will see if I can use the great shield to help with second phase.
After him it will be 2 more bosses and doneComment

Re: Dark Souls III
Nameless King
By far the hardest damm boss I have ever ever encounter in any video game ever. This dude was frustrating and awesome at the same time. I have come home from work the last 3 days and got beat for an hour and a half or so each day time after time after time by this guy. The first day the first part with the dragon was killing me each time. In day two I figured out the dragon part and was able to handle it easier but nameless king killed me quick most times. Lowered to half stamina at best. Late on the second day I started to get the moveset easier but timing was still not perfect. Today I was confident and got home from work for day 3 and decided to go real light with my equipment and used all the collected shards to plus 9 the great sword after having my claimore at plus 10 but not having reach on it
After 8 tries tonight I had all his moves down and took him out and I felt like throwing my controller at the screen and cursing the nameless king. LOL
So hyped right now the rush is real folks.
2 more bosses and game is doneComment

Re: Dark Souls III
So the day after beating the Nameless King I fought the next to last boss which was the brother and sister prince.
It took me about 4 tries and was done with it.
Got to last boss and he has beaten me like 8 straight times but I got his moves now and is just a matter of timing and I will beat him in the next day or so when I play.
It has been a great second half to this game. Cannot wait to get into N+Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
I had 10 Bone Shards and 15 flasks (I think). I do know that I got an achievement for maxing out my flasks.
I was actually bummed when I beat the game. I just really enjoyed it a lot, never wanted it to end. Of course I know about NG+..etc, but the first time you discover a new level is gaming bliss at least for me.Comment

Re: Dark Souls III
Is there an easy way to see how many bosses you have beaten even if you have used some of the bosses souls for souls or traded them in for weapons?
Thanks.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines
MLB: St. Louis Cardinals
NHL: St. Louis Blues
NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
EPL: Liverpool RedsComment
