      I think Vikings are cool but I like using the Knight better. I get my butt kicked no matter what but I like his quickness and defense a little more. What are people rolling with?

      One thing I never really understood in the Alpha and now the Beta are the different loadout options. Are they all passive or can you trigger other moves? Are there any d-pad things you can use? I thought in the Alpha some people were using smoke bombs. Haven't seen that here in the beta so far.

      I need to find a list showing all the basic and advanced moves for this game.

        Some are passive some are not. For example I believe the smoke bomb is used by the samurai assasin and it slows the enemy. To activate it you use the d pad you can also unlock other abilities in the character screen. Btw I mainly use the basic knight my self

              The beta is pretty glitchy. I've dropped out numerous times and struggled to match make at times. The beta is very similar to the alpha in play modes other than the faction stuff. Some of the fighters are fairly diverse and cool. I'm not sure any are over powered but experts can clean a novices clock. I've got my butt bead bad. Still really don't know the feats loadout stuff and when I can use them.

              The 4v4 is fun and very hectic but also frustrating as I often find myself double teamed and killed. Knowing the maps and hiding and cheap shotting is crucial apparently. I don't like the elevated areas to control as they almost always result in mismatches and no fun battles imo. Climbing a ladder to find two people waiting for me and easily killing me isn't very fun. Taking a break to play 2v2 was fun though. Had an epic match and they really help you focus and enjoy the 1v1 matchup.

              I know some have complained the moves are slow or sluggish but I love it like this. Adds a lot more strategy. Any faster and it's an offensive button mash fest. Defence is crucial in this game. Switching targets in the 4v4 is tough in the mayhem though. I think they could do those skirmishes a bit better.

                  Enjoying the hell out of this game currently.

                  My biggest complaint currently is the 4v4. I know it's good strategy to just run in a pack and team up on people, but I feel like it breaks the combat of the game when 2,3, or 4 people are swinging away at one.

                  My suggestion to combat the "I'll fight you one on one, then run so you fall into the trap of my two buddies waiting for you" is to up the amount of friendly fire damage. Make attacks that land do just as much damage to teammates as they do to enemies. People wouldn't be swinging away in packs of people, they would have to worry about being more precise.

                            The range on the guard break for the characters with shields needs to be dropped. I can dodge backwards with an assassin class and still get hit by a guard break. It's like it locks on to you so you can't avoid it.

                              Registered, didn't get the invite but found a way around it on some MMO site that sells codes. I said to hell with it and took the dive for 8 bucks.

                              Game is enjoyable. I like the sound effects of the weapons clashing together and the player movement (you can "feel" the weight of movement). It can get pretty difficult for the simple fact that not all of the characters have an obvious form as to where the attacks are coming from.

                              For example, the heavy orochi will hold his weapon on the side where he will attack from so its not difficult to know where you'll need to block. However, the lighter classes attacks aren't so obvious and I found myself always taking the first blow before I knew where to direct my block.

                              The lighter assassin samurai, for example, after the initial shift of the weapon (which you might not always observe) will just hold the weapon out in front. During the heat of battle, I couldn't make out any visual cues as to where the attacks would originate. It was getting frustrating, so I went into free play, selected the assassin, and shifted the weapon around to try and see subtle clues. I found that with some of the characters, its the foot placement that gives it away (correct me if I'm wrong).

                              Good luck zeroing in on footwork during the heat of actual battle!

                                One thing I can say about this game is that it is truly gorgeous to look at. I love the huge environments. I've played the 4 v 4 and the 1v1 and the game feels hectic as hell in 4 v 4 w/ the hordes of NPC's and Human/A.I. opponents. I kind of like the 1 v 1 as you really get a chance to key in on your opponent. Part of me wishes this game really focused on 1 v 1 and added the ability to use the environment against your opponent(EX:knock opponents into a flaming urn or kick them down the stairs). Combine that with the potential of a one hit kill(Ex: Bushido Blade, Deadliest Warrior) and we could have had a true next gen Bushido Blade.
                                EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
