Hahaha, you're right. That would be my response because it's true. Plus, would I rather play what is basically the same game 16 times a season, 162 times a season, etc. for multiple seasons or would I rather spend that time playing For Honor, RE7, Hitman, Horizon, Wildlands, etc. which gives me different genres across different games and more variety than sports games do? As someone who at one time only played sports games, I must admit that the elimination of NFL 2K and competition in general was actually a blessing in disguise for me personally because I was finally able to move on and play different games in different genres.

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
I have 3 beta codes for the PS4 through my Ubi account (extremegamer77) that I'd be willing to give to anyone who wants it.
There's no chance of me buying this game, I didn't care for the repetitive gameplay of the alpha but willing to give the beta a shot. I'm pretty much done with UbiSoft games, they all follow the same formula, even worse the always online connected ones. Since this is basically MP only, I'm out.Comment

I'll be interested to hear reviews when this releases, but hate MP only games.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Yep, it's the same formula for all their games now. Their HUD is littered with stuff all over the place, the games are notoriously broken in some way and need almost immediate patching and the online only portion is just a killer. After dealing with Street Fighter V, Division and Steep, I refuse buy another game that is online only.Comment

Repetitive gameplay exists in EVERY game period. Every game has a gameplay loop in which you're constantly and consistently doing the same thing over and over again. It simply comes down to " are you enjoying what you're doing in the game to keep doing it over and over until the end"?
If not, that's cool. There's a good amount of games that people love that I don't think are good let alone great and there's nothing wrong with that. Not everyone is going to like every game. That's impossible.
I love Ubisoft games and their setup and formula. It's what I like and enjoy. Watch Dogs 2 (sorry Tomba) doesn't give me that feel. For Honor and even more so GRW definitely will. The game world itself makes Ubisoft games worth playing and quite simply, no one does it any better. Hell, not even close.
The alpha and beta are MP only but in the final retail release, there will be THREE single player campaigns in the game. One for the Viking, Knight and Samurai. I'm guessing each will be between 6-8 hours each.
Personally, im hyped for For Honor as it's my number one most wanted game for the first four months of 2017. Like them or not, Ubisoft is pretty much the only publisher that takes chances on games that may not sell at all. No other publisher does that period. Can't wait!!! Three weeks to go and then, it will be time to chop off some heads!!! Hahaha.Comment

I love Ubisoft's formula. It works for me. The gameplay is also excellent and worlds are always amazing in regards to how they pull you in with the immersion and atmosphere. I get it though...you're just tired of their setup. I can see and understand that but for me, im nowhere close to reaching that point.
As for HUD, FC and AC always had options to remove majority if not the entire HUD. Don't know about For Honor but im sure that the final version will have some options to turn off that stuff. I'm just hoping I can turn off the button/analog prompts when in the "major" one on one battles in order to make the fighting more strategic and harder.
Far Cry Primal was awesome and near flawless in regards to how it plays. The Division had it's problems and still does but the gameplay itself is near perfect. They still need to fix up some stuff but it's an online MMORPG and if people can give Activision and Destiny a lot of leeway, Ubisoft easily deserves the same. Don't care about Steep as it's not for me.
The online requirement is a minor inconvenience and annoying at worse. As long as I don't have to pay any extra money, im good. The Division is obviously online and for the most part, I didn't have any problems while playing for over 120 hours.
As for being "always online or online only", Microsoft wanted to do that and a lot of people still to this day wanted that to happen. Multi-player online only games are huge (Overwatch, Destiny, The Division, etc.) and are played by millions and millions of gamers.
I have been against "always online or online only" for years but I know that im the minority and can't do anything about it. I don't like having to be "online" to play For Honor solo but I accepted it with The Division and despite that, I fully enjoyed the game. Division was awesome and I want to eventually get back to it once the expansion pass content is all released.
I don't like being "online" to play For Honor but screw it, it's not costing me anything extra. For Honor looks great and I have no doubt that it plays great. For Honor is a game that you rarely see nowadays. Vikings, Knights and Samurai's??? Hell yeah!!! Let's go!!!
Three more weeks to go!!!Comment

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
I think most people wouldn't mind Ubisoft's "formula" if it was at least inspired or tailored to each game in some way that would be unique. Is it really necessary to climb a tower in order to uncover a region of the map in every game?
I like the mechanics, but the execution has become lazy.

I personally never had a problem with that for one main reason - it's a lot easier and faster to do that then it would be to walk that entire area/district/region for it all to appear on the map.Comment
