Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
The intro is cool. I did the practice mode and that wasn't too bad. Then I tried one dominion 4 x 4 game vs the ai and I was awful. Man do I suck. Blocking is not easy. You can guard break and throw. I couldn't Dodge well. As you get hurt you get slow. I am terrible! I killed one boss and died five times in the match. Even though it was 4v4 there are objectives and low level soldiers still. All my human teammates were way better than me.
I did the 2 v 2 vs ai and that is just 4 people total with no bots or basic soldiers. If you die your opponent can run over and double team your partner. You can be revived as well but I'm not sure how to do that. Pretty fun. I'm not sure how much long term fun this would be but there appears to be a lot of levelling up and some special moves you can earn. During the 4 v 4 I had a revenge move. I'm still confused but it's interesting.
Blocking works well imo but you can't attack when blocking. I struggle when knowing when to block or use my quick or heavy attack. Guard break is good but I think you need practice knowing when to do what. Will definitely play more later.Comment

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
The alpha was glitchy this morning. Bad connections. The 4v4 is fun but mayhem too. I hate facing multiple enemies. I get destroyed.
There is a lot more depth to the moves and each character. I would recommend also watching the basic move videos to understand. Each character is a bit different with combos and things. Here is a guide as well. I have to remember to vary my rstick attack direction.
For Honor is a class based medieval hack and slash fighting game with an intricate combat system. Our guides will show you how to customize your character, help you understand the battle system, defeat enemies in different game modes and become a better fighter.
I wish there was a mute button for others with mics. All in all though I am pretty happy. This alpha has made me lean towards buying for sure. The battlefield in 4v4 has an epic feel.Comment

The alpha was considered a success. People spent an average of 4.5 hours playing it. Lots of executions.

That way I can kill you for getting me hooked on The Division in the Beta.

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
I didn't even realize how the scoring went in the Dominion.
the endgame triggers once one team has accumulated enough points. For Honor then announces that one army has started to break, and players on the team that’s breaking – the team with the lower score – will no longer respawn after they’re killed. The match ends when the last human player falls, while the defending team can win if the players rally and survive for a set amount of time.
The endgame is heavily weighted in favor of the team that’s on the attack, but it doesn’t affect the balance because both teams start the match on even footing and have plenty of time to establish an advantage. The endgame is therefore a more flavorful way to resolve a match that has already reached its conclusion (in most cases it won’t take the attacking team long to wrap things up). The match concludes when everyone on the defending team is dead. Speaking from experience – we were able to rout our opponents during our demo – that’s a lot more satisfying than watching an arbitrary timer count down to zero.Comment

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
Was wondering with like 3 to 4 games that I wanted for early quarter next year was going to resolve itself. However, as usual thank you Ubisoft for making broken promises easily for me so I can remove this game from purchase considerations.Comment

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
Second, im assuming you mean the requirement of being connected online while playing the single player campaign?
I just shrugged with this because I was connected online with The Division and yeah, that's an MMORPG shooter where as For Honor isn't but at the same time, isn't a big deal to me. If I can deal with it for over 120 hours in The Division, im sure that I can handle it for 20 or so in For Honor.
For Honor is still a pre-order and pick up on release day for me. Being connected online isn't going to stop me from buying and playing this game. While this type of game probably exists on PC, it doesn't exist on consoles and being able to play with a Viking, Knight or Samurai is awesome!!!
I'm just hoping that the button prompts that appear when in those one on one battles can be turned off. That's my only hope for the game besides it obviously being good. For Honor is still my number one anticipated Ubisoft game with Wildlands second and Watch Dogs 2 third which I currently own but haven't played past the tutorial.Comment

Re: For Honor (PS4/X1/PC)
You don't play sports games. Play a 162 game baseball season and a Maddan and NBA multi-season too then get back to me about 7 games in Q1. Naturally, your response will be that's why you don't play sports games anymore because you're missing out on the other games so spare me the long read.....LOLComment
