I turned 49 yesterday. For my birthday I am not going to buy Mafia 3. I'm hoping to grow up this year. Seriously, I really want this game but I have too many bills to pay off and too many games I haven't played yet. If reviews are great I may decide to grow up when I turn 50.

Personally, I think it's ok to play video games at any age. However, I would NEVER sacrifice my bank account for it. I'd rather not buy new games for 10 years, than having to have even the smallest debt. I can always buy used games for 1/5 of the price later.

Part of me wants to do an old fashion "midnight launch" and stay up and play tonight. Haven't done that since my daughter passed and we would go out and get The Show.

There are many games that come out on pc that work fine that you never hear about.

And to be fair, its broken by PC standards. It's console acceptable though.

Eh, if this kind of stuff (note the basketball sounds when nobody is playing basketball) happens on consoles too nobody will be boasting about which platform(s) they're playing on, lol.

The AI looks so inconsistent. But either way, there's just something that isn't working in this game for me, not only the AI, not sure I can put my finger on it, but it's just missing something. I was really looking forward to buying it at some point, but I'm not sure I will. After all the gameplay videos I have seen (the early ones and the ones from the retail version), there's just something off about this game. Maybe it's because the game is more of an open world game, not sure (not to mention that there is hardly any car damage, just none deformation - you can hit a brick wall at 80 mph and all you get it is a loose bumper, if anything).

It looks like standards were higher when they published Mafia 2. Too bad. It could have been awesome.

I've been playing for 5 or so hours and no problems. Maybe I'm just not as picky. Personally I am enjoying it.

Should have delayed the PC version then, that's ridiculous.

A test on GAF supposedly shows that the cars and pedestrians slow down when the game is throttled back to 15FPS, so it seems physics and the game engine key on FPS. Awful if true.

I've been playing for 5 or so hours and no problems. Maybe I'm just not as picky. Personally I am enjoying it.

I played for about a half hour or so this morning before work so it is early into the game but I am enjoying it as well.

Those clips have me hesitant to jump on this. Going to hold off for awhile and see how community likes it.

Right now from all these clip just doesn't look as polished as I would've hoped
