      Re: Mafia 3

Plugged this in a few weeks ago to play the DLC, which I guess I had a season pass. Was disappointed to see that several of the bugs I encountered in the game were never fixed. I could never get all of the magazines for example, as I picked one up and then the game froze. It never registered that I acquired the magazine, and yet it's gone from game and I can't acquire it again. Sucks after focusing on it and trying to get the PS4 award. There's also empty quests. Places where people are supposed to be to kick off quests. Those are still empty. No idea why. Quests show on map, but nothing is there when I drive all the way to the location. These were known / reported issues, pretty much from launch, and they didn't fix them.

Never finished the game, so I can't say much about the story (which was great according to...everyone), but story doesn't matter to me if the game as a whole is just missing so many touches. You can have the greatest story ever written, and I wouldn't care about it.

Unlike many here, I prefer a game with amazing gameplay, world, atmosphere and details - but with average story. For me the story just can't hold it together, if everything else is lacking.

Terrible AI, lighting effects and physics were just more reasons why this game was bad.

It's like the studio who created the game was told to drop everything that made previous titles great. "Just do the opposite, and be sure to release it before it is finished" (none of the patches mattered to me).
Co-sign youvalss. I did end up picking this game up again but on the PC instead of xbox for $9.99 via Steam. Playing this game on PC with the Reshade mod really upgrades the looks of the game a good deal imo. A.I. is a little better but not a huge upgrade. This is a game that could have been a real gem with another 6 months or more of dev time. Lifeless NPCs in the universe when compared to similar games like watchdogs 2, GTA really hurts it more than anything imo.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Nice. I always considered buying this during sales and my waiting paid off.

I played this when it came out and I liked it a lot more then most people. The biggest knock on it is that its repetitive so your doing the same thing over and over again. So I would recommend lowering the difficulty and just blowing by everyone. That might not be a issue for most people as I personally die a lot when I play on normal. I do think they screwed up when they didn't make the mafia Italian like in the 2nd one. I really enjoyed the story so that part was top notch. If your looking for a game with a great story with some simple easy shooting then you should like it just don't go expecting it to be GTA 5.

This is exactly why I'm picky about what I pay for now. This game is another one of those $60 purchases that I barely played. Before they announced it was free, I fired it up again last week and started trying to play again.

I wish we could get free Sleeping Dogs again like It was on the PS3.

I unfortunately bought the deluxe edition with the season pass. Couldn't even make it through the game and traded it in. Even though it's free now, still can't play it.

Bought the deluxe edition at launch and enjoyed the game itself. Best story/characters and soundtrack of 2016 but the gameplay isn't great and the horrible setup to the world were the biggest negatives. My suggestion is stick to the story which is worth playing through at least once in my opinion. All three DLC's were average at best and not worth playing.

No doubt. Terrible A.I. and a lifeless environment are this games biggest pitfalls. It was the definition of a rushed product..

Bought the game when it first came out and loved everything about it minus the clueless AI that can easily be picked off with a whistle. Game should have had a different title from Mafia because it felt nothing like a Mafia themed game.

I never once got bored with the game and managed to make it through the first two DLC stories. Didn't play the third DLC because I just recently found out about it.
