    Re: God of War 4

Was having fun with this but now it's getting a little frustrating, every where I go I'm meeting things that's higher than I am and can't kill. I'm level 3 right now and not finding many things that will raise my level much. Was having trouble doing a few quest where things were purple so I changed and went in another direction. Now I'm trying to do some side quest and I meet 2 Wulvers that are orange, if it was one I could kill it but there's 2 and right now it's not happening. Might have to step away a bit cause I really don't want to lower the difficulty from normal. This is my first God of War so maybe there's a few things I need to learn *shrug*

I tried doing a side mission early on, got wrecked and have largely stuck with the story. I’m on Normal and the normal Journey has been a near perfect difficulty. I will do the side missions later. I’m almost finished. Chapter 15/17.

This is a good strategy. I'm playing a new game, one of the first things I got was amulet of kvasir and upgraded it. I tuck and roll a lor, can be tricky against werewolves.

I also break everything and open everything.

I was pretty sure I was originally on the story mission unless I accidentally detoured. I had just talked to the World Serpent and

I think those are side missions.

Think that is side quest, and you get good gear. On the compass blue items are favors and side quests, yellow are main quests.

With werewolves I find the R1 ax throw works good. I hold down R1 and select as many targets as I can on individual werewolves. It acts like a heat seeking or smart ax, and hits them up to 5 times I think.

As long as you have that upgrade. Just FYI for anyone confused.

Yeah, it's hunter killer perk in ranger combat for the ax. Maxed out is 8 hits.

Finished the game! Great game. Not sick of it at all. Will now go back and try to complete the sideman missions and visit all the realms.

I think I'm having more fun doing this stuff. I'm still finding new things.

Can you guys share the tips for beating them? I've only faced three of them so far. Being one of the Dr Pepper guys I get every weekend off and have no plans except to play this a little more.

You want to make sure you go into the fight with full health and as much Spartan Rage as possible. Try to pick Runics that are not only powerful but have smaller cooldown windows. Also make sure you have some sort of resurrection stone on deck. Preferably the one that fills Spartan Rage but I think that gets unlocked as you progress. Also lock onto the Valkerie before you start fighting. It will help you with Atreus' arrows.

The actual fights themselves vary depending on how they attack but I always do this:

When I get into the room I run up to the valkerye and hit em with the heavy axe runic attack while they're still coming out of their cocoon thing. When I'm hitting them with the heavy axe runic I also use Atreus' arrows and immediately follow with the light axe runic attack. I then hit them with Atrues' runic attack since it usually stuns them. This gives me time to change to the Blades while I freeze time and hit them with the both runic attacks.

The valkerie's health bar is usually halfway or a little above it by now which means I just have to finish them off. I try to keep my distance and spam the arrows while blocking and rolling. Some of the fights can get pretty disorienting when the valkerie's start flying around so try to use the red indicator to let you know where it is. Most of them will do some sort of flying attack at you. When they do this I usually time it up with a Runic attack or an arrow to stun them. Their attacks are strong and some of them you can't block when they're close so you'll inevitably lose power but it's not too bad because some hits on them make them drop green power orbs. Scoop those as much as you can but once your health gets low use the Spartan Rage. The punches don't take that much health away from the valkerie's but the punches lock on and more importantly it refills your health and makes you immune to most attacks.

It's a lot to follow but as long as you keep cycling through your runics and save your Spartan Rage for when you get low on healthy you'll be all good.

It's A LOT of button mashing but with a purpose lol. I was fighting one while talking to my wife the other day on the phone and she was like "what's all that noise?" LOL.

I will use that advice. Just got beat numerous times against one as I finished the main story the other day.

Truly a great game. Even more impressive was that with all the millions of games sold, almost 43% have beaten the game already. I often find that many gamers don’t finish games, especially when they are this long. Those final trophy percentages can be low.
