I'm on the second tutorial and I am trying to dock on Azeban city and I am there but I can't figure out how to request docking. I literally pressed the buttons I was asked to press 20 times and it won't do anything.

I need to get to the left panel and I just can't do it.

Becoming very frustrated and not even an hour in.

This is crazy. Finally got into the city and tried to dock and blew up my ship.

I really wish there was a user manual that had the controler layout. I don't know how to do anything.

Either click left + square or press on the lower left hand corner of the touch pad.

There you'll open up a new box of selections. Go to Contacts. Select Azeban City Station, and request docking.

The station will inform you if you've been denied or which spot to dock in.

If you've been denied, just keep trying. Likely it's because it's full.

Just navigating the maps is confusing as hell to me. I finally finished the Welcome Commander mission. Not too bad, but if I get into combat I am done for. I can't even finish the advanced combat training.

Docking isn't that hard once you get used to it. Quick tip would be to hit L3 to switch to alternate flight controls. This allows for the right stick to control your lateral movement rather than your yaw, very helpful. Also if you deploy your landing gear early, your ship will be much easier to control. I put my landing gear out as I approach the "mail slot".

I would suggest holding down and then pressing O. Only because O also kicks you into hyper drive or whatever the game calls it. You're going to get super frustrated zooming into barriers and walls when trying to land! Trust me, it happened a lot to me and I was just as frustrated as you with the landing tutorial.

Once you request docking and receive it, drop the landing gear. It slows you down and slowing down should help you get through the small entrances in some stations.

From there, I strongly suggest taking your time. Make sure the nose of your ship is pointed up on the radar when landing and slow down a lot. Use the r-stick to maneuver as much as possible. I find that using the R-stick to turn around 180 degrees is better than trying to fly in a circle while landing - even if it takes longer to use the R-stick.

It's going to take a few tries to get it right. But once you do, you'll love the complexity of landing. Makes you feel like you're actually doing something.

Definitely remember when docking that the R stick is vertical and horizontal thrusters. It basically lets you fly like a helicopter when you use these. You can stay in place and nudge the R stick up or down to change altitude while staying centered on the landing pad. This helped me a ton.

The game doesn't always do a great job of telling you the small things about flying a spaceship. This might not have been the problem in your case, but you have to be within 7.5 KM of a space station to request docking.

EDIT: And yes thrusters are your best friend when docking. If you aren't using those you're going to have a real hard time.

Can someone do me a favor with the PS4 version? Go the the galaxy map and search for the following system:

"PLOI EURL DV-E B-28-0"


Once you find that system go in to the system map view, and tell me if any of the planets have any "First Discovered by" name data linked to them. If so can you post the name. Just curious what it says.

If you ordered the deluxe version off of PSN, weren't you supposed to get some extras like name plates, different skins and maybe even some extra coinage? If so I have not been able to find it. Any ideas?

Saw this earlier. It's like 49 mins long. Read some of the feedback below which seems to be positive. Since it was made this year wanted something as close to possible to release. I'll let you know after I watch it if it has merits.

I just started playing and am getting through the tutorials and what not. I have watched a ton of vids. And I gotta say, for a brand new player, this is the best one out there to get you started. Amazing, user friendly and not too technical. This is where everyone should start.

ObsidianAnt has absolutely tremendous vids and they should be watched, but imo this should be step #1. Thanks for posting it!

I got the itch tonight and logged in. Forgot that the last time I played I warped to a binary system with no planets and I have no fuel.

Really don't know what to do, heh. No fuel scoop on my Anaconda.

In the video, where you select solo play and then it takes you to your launching pad, there's a menu that has "starport services", that's at the 4:00 mark for further review. After you select it, it will take you to a map services. Under Livery is where you can change your skins. I'm sure they'll be other offers that maybe there.
