Re: Elite: Dangerous
Very thankful for the tutorials. I haven't had much gaming time so I haven't jumped into the actual game. I don't expect to master it all but I want to know how certain aspects work.
I can't imagine figuring out how to mine without the tutorial."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Elite: Dangerous
Reading through this thread really makes me smile seeing everyone enjoying a game I've invested a ton of hours into on PC making it's way to a physical console release.
I'm glad you guys are digging it. And yes Obisidian Ant is one of the best subscribtions you can make on YouTube. He puts out content daily that really helps you stay on top of what's happening in the world of Elite Dangerous.Comment

Re: Elite: Dangerous
Do stations tell you why they won't let you land?
Scenario.
I'm out exploring. I end up finding lost items. I take them.
Later on I realize the cargo is stolen and illegal. Huh.
So I'm flying around and think I should go back to my first base and get some missions.
I get near, request docking and it's granted. But no matter what I do, I can't land the ship. Game won't accept it.
I'm landing in the right spot. I even went back to the tutorial after and had NO issues. So something was up.
I did see that there was a message on my hud that I had illegal cargo.
Was that a message from the station? Is that why I couldn't dock?

Re: Elite: Dangerous
A tip for you if you guys find landing tedious is to invest in a Standard Docking Computer when you can afford to outfit one for your ship. It will save you some frustration if you find the docking/lining up a bit tiresome sometimes after long space runs.Comment

Re: Elite: Dangerous
It could be the illegal cargo I guess. More than likely it was a bug I'm guessing.

I'll give it another go today, I hope.

Re: Elite: Dangerous
I begin my tutorial journey tonight. Game will arrive this afternoon.
My brother in-law and I are already planning a faction, and doing stuff together on this game.
Geeking up big time. It is such a deep and immense game. But this is what I had hoped NMS was going to be.
This is like the major leagues of space simulation compared to that game. Looks like a WOW MMO game but set in space. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Elite: Dangerous
Sucks that I got hit with a 1500 credit fine last night for dropping my illegal cargo in the dock just because I wanted to see if that would work.
Oh well.

Just wondering, I started with 1000 credit points. Did you start the same? Does everyone start with 1000 points?Comment

Re: Elite: Dangerous
I'm not sure how I can pay the fine since I don't have the money. Still learning the game. It has a time limit next to my fine. I'm assuming I have that much time to pay it?

Re: Elite: Dangerous
Yes. If you don't play bounty/wanted status will be placed on your head by the local faction and NPCs will interdict and hunt you - local security forces will try to take you until you pay it.
